Room was about on par for a Motel 6. Certainly dated, not maintained very well, and although we are pretty sure the sheets were cleaned, they still had a hue of brown to t
I had the absolute worst Hotel stay over the weekend. Checked into the Rodeway Inn in Abilene TX for one night. The deskclerk was smirky and borderline rude. After he deigned to check me in, I went to the room. Looked for a cup.. no cups or glasses. Went back to the desk, asked for a cup. "There are no cups." "what?". "No cups in this hotel - at all." Again with kind of a smirky, borderline rude manner. Eh! went out to grab some food, came back an hour or so later. Figured I could watch a late football game... No TV controller. Back out to the desk, he handed me a controller. Back to the room. The damn thing would NOT turn on the TV. Started looking around the room more carefully. The microwave was missing the glass plate that rotates. In the bathroom, there was... a sink. Just the sink against a blank wall. No counters or cabinets. I guess I should be grateful they provided TP by the toilet? No Iron or board. No hairdryer. No plastic laundery bag. The "closet" had one hanger - left by previous guest, and the rod was like four feet above the floor. No ice bucket. Not even a trash can. There was a pile of dirty laundry about 6-8 feet in front of my room when I checked in. It was still there in the morning when I went for coffee. As I was leaving I asked the daytime desk clerk for a refund. (And I would not put out the worlds worst review ever.) He just smiled and said it doesn't matter. This is a franchise and nobody cares. "Welcome to Abilene", he said.
Someone banged on our door at 1:00 in the morning talking in a foreign language, not spanish. We called the front desk from the phone & our cell & didnt get an answer. We went down to the front desk after the man left & no one was there. We reported the incident to the staff the next morning and we told the attendant was on the phone. We think he was asleep based on the snoring we heard.
It was okay, but the room smelled musty, and the bed wasnât super comfortable. Itâs an older property and looks it. Still, it seemed clean and was fine for one night. The tub had gross looking rust stains.
Room was in good shape - appears to have been recently remodeled. Amenities were non existent; towels were threadbare, bedding was not warm enough, no coffee maker in room and no shampoo available in the hotel. The one redeeming value was the price as a local AI project has jacked hotel/motel prices through the roof.
The towel was stained.
The receptionist wasnât there when we arrived, we have to wait around 30 minutes to make check in.
Also the parking lot hasnât enough spaces.
