Casa Roo is an excellent option for a small group seeking an independent vacation away from the crowds! 3 rooms each with a king sized bed and en suite bath. The house is in wonderful condition with a great design, ample amenities, and an outstanding location. Our family with kids enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, the secluded beach, the kayaks and SUPs and snorkeling gear to enjoy the reef located just a few 100 meters from shore, the plunge pool, the rooftop for evening games, and the beautifully landscaped private yard and beachfront. Rent a car so you can take care of your own schedule and head off to the store or on an excursion or two. Skip the guided options and make your own way.The staff make the stay so easy with an onsite property manager and daily housekeeping and cleanup. We certainly hope we can return soon!Note: there is ongoing construction next door. It can be loud at times⊠just take it as an opportunity to grab another drink from the fridge just steps awayâŠ
Lovely property. Needs some updating on maintenance lights hanging from sockets doorknobs not functioning outside chairs falling apart.Hugo and Anna were great took good care of the house.Kayaks and snorkeling equipment nice to have.beds were good.
Stayed for a week at Casa Roo with wife and two teenage kids. The house is great (ideal for a family of 4), the pool and ocean amazing, and the staff (Hugo and Ana, in particular) were terrific. We enjoyed the services of the personal chefs on two days as well. Really, five stars all the way around. The only negative, as some others have noted, was the ongoing construction at the house next door. The good news is they didn't work on the weekend and they generally never started before 9 am and were done by 4 pm. We spent a lot of that time outside the house so had no issues then. But lounging by the pool with heavy construction a stone's throw away was not ideal. We stayed at the end of March and I would estimate at least another 6 months of construction. But the vacation was a great success by all accounts and we wouldn't hesitate to go back soon - we'll just plan more day trips during the week (lots more cenotes to explore!).
The host at this house was very hospitable and the description online is very accurate. We ended up having 10 people stay with two boys crashing on the couch. There was plenty of room and everyone enjoyed their time here immensely.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this lovely home in a great neighborhood. The staff, especially Hugo, was fantastic and very helpful when needed but also withdrew into the background so the place had a feeling of privacy. The view is fantastic, there are kayaks and a paddle board, the rooftop is made for entertaining, and rooms very comfortable. My only complaint is that they are doing construction next door, which is not surprising in that area, but this week they were pounding sand to put in a pool - every day at 8 am and almost all day long for the entire week. Now, I am not changing my review because I doubt the owners could have known that they would be pounding sand with a jackhammer device during my stay but the construction may be bothersome to some renters so be forewarned that if you are intolerant, you may want to wait for a while until the construction is done. However, I think it would be hard to find other homes in that area that are not experiencing the same thing as the area is growing.
Despite that little annoyance that cannot be blamed on the owners, I had a fantastic week and will be back to stay in the house again - if they will have me!
Distinctive red house on a pretty piece of beachfront property. Advertised as âquiet,â but there was major construction going on next door. Kitchen, bathrooms, common area and 2 of 3 bedrooms are on the small side. Nice features like a rooftop sitting area and swimming pool. Attentive staff and multiple amenities like snorkeling gear, water shoes and kayaks. Thumbs up for a family, whereas we had 4 adults and 2 boys who tended to take up more room than was available.
Very cool property...the kitchen range could use some work and more working burners. There were some basics missing in the kitchen but Hugo was always right there to help with anything we needed. He lives on the first floor of the home. Anna kept everything clean each day.
We had the most amazing time at the Red House!! The photos really don't do justice to the amazing location and view. The house was magnificent. Everything was so clean and set beautifully.
We were met at the airport by the drivers that we booked through the house manager. They were fabulous and even had cold beers for the drive.
The beach was also perfect. It's right there for the taking. The beach directly in front of the house was rocky, but there are plenty of water shoes of all sizes there for use. When you walk a little further down, you get to the sand.
They also had kayaks and snorkeling equipment which we used daily. We had so much fun looking at all the marine life up close.
The best part - Hugo, the house manager! Hugo was soooo amazing and helpful in every way. We did not want for a thing! He helped us to book the chefs who came in daily and cooked the most amazing meals!! The tortilla soup, cheese pie, enchiladas, and ceviche were my favorites. Chef Roberto was so cool. We had a lot of fun during meals!
Hugo also helped us by giving us good recommendations for our day trips into Akumal and Tulum. We had so much fun and were even able to swim with the sea turtles which I highly recommend.
Anna, the housekeeper, also came in daily and kept everything clean and beautiful. And she was always such a delight to see. And the groundskeeper, Cipriano, kept everything nice and tidy for each day.
We truly had an amazing time!
We had the best time at Casa Roo & are already planning our next vacation back! The private pool & beach area is stunning. The house is magical. But what really made our vacation special was the attention the staff gave our family. Hugo, house manager, is so wonderful & made sure our stay was perfection. Anna & Cipriano kept the house & property spotless. We were even lucky enough to have freshly cut coconuts a couple of the days during our stay. Thanks Maya & Casa Roo for providing a place for our family to make memories :)
This place is very nice and in a perfect location. One side of the house is just jungle and the other does have a house but nobody was there till the last night. The snorkeling was amazing right out in front of the house. The roof top had great views. I would go back to this house for sure.
Casa Roo is an amazing experience. From top to bottom a world class experience. What made our vacation an unforgettable experience was the first class service from Hugo the property manager and his staff. We can't wait to go back.
We had an amazing experience and loved every aspect of our stay. The staff was amazing, great views and the pool was a hit with the kids. We will definitely be back!
