The property was OK, but nothing special. The biggest complaint was that the back porch was filthy: dirty and overrun with spider webs. The BBQ grill was gross. It would have been nice to enjoy sitting near the river in the morning or evening, but this was rendered impossible by the condition of the back porch. Most vacation rentals are decorated nicely with personal touches. Not this location. It was mediocre in pretty much all aspects. If you're visiting the South Fork area just to fish or other outdoor recreation and only need a place to sleep for a few hours, great. But don't expect a place with any ambience or charm.
We loved our family vacation at your 2-bedroom 1-bath cabin on the Rio Grande in South Fork. We drove to Wolf Creek every morning to ski and had a warm and comfortable cabin to return to in the evenings. The view of the frozen river was stunning and we enjoyed the gas fire place. Our only recommendation to the owners would be to include a few additional items tp make the cabin more homey and easier to maintain such as a broom, coasters, place mats, and non-stick skillets. Thanks for your hospitality and the lovely cabin, we had a fantastic time!
The house was really clean and nice. The property owner was accessible. The place is in a great location for everything you need in town. It is also on the Rio Grande so the scenery was amazing. I would stay there again for sure! The only thing I would suggest is a broom, the floors get messy real quick. But we enjoyed our stay very much.
This condo is in a beautiful location. We enjoyed eating at the local pizza place in South Fork, which also sells bags of ice. Was able to get any last minute items from the local Rainbow mart.
The kitchen pots and pans did need to be hand washed prior to using. Several had quite a bit of food and grease left in and on them. There is a nice variety in sizes available to include lids. There are plenty of cooking utensils .
We were in the lower level condo and noise from upper level was very tolerable.
Would stay here again.
Master bedroom super comfortable with large open closet for our suitcases. Large TV in livingroom with Netflix made for a relaxing evening after skiing. Fairly quiet place with a nice view of the river.
We really enjoyed this property rental! The "Fishing on the Rio" condo was perfect for our vacation needs and my husband was able to easily fly fish directly behind the property. This property is the left downstairs unit within a 4-condo stand alone building on the edge of town. Everything we needed for the week was provided and the Master bed was very comfortable (didn't try the twin and bunk room). There is a nice back deck overlooking the river and comes with a grill and 2 patio chairs. The condo is nice and dark and quiet, it was super relaxing to hear the shallow river running at night. The only property noise we ever heard was when the upstairs renter ran their washer/dryer. We tried multiple yummy restaurants in town (Mexican, Pizza/Taproom, breakfast/lunch food truck) and there is also a small well-stocked grocery store. We had a great worry-free vacation and will be back for sure!
Would have been nice to be told that you couldn't really get down to the river to fish and that the house was more of a small apartment complex. I didn't plan on having neighbors above me using there vacuum at 10pm. But other than that it was way easy to find and I loved the layout. Super cute get away and I would go back now that I know what to expect.
