I booked the place before realizing that both Angel Fire and Red River ski areas (where we had "free" reciprocal season passes) would be closing before our stay. The location was otherwise fine, and I liked the layout and features of the cabin. The "goodies" in the kitchen (coffee and chocolate) were a nice touch. The kitchen was well-stocked except for measuring cups and spoons.
Unfortunately, it was evident that the cleaning person is not very detail-oriented. There were long cobwebs in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms, easy-to-clean spots on the kitchen floor, a used dishwasher pod in the bottom of the dishwasher, no soap in the bathroom dispenser, and crumbs on a stool and the futon. The bar soap in the bathroom was essentially glued to the frame of the mirror and I had to break it off. All these could have been resolved easily with a detailed cleaning. The linens were fine.
The cabin is overdue for some maintenance - cracked floor tiles and grout, a non-functional bathroom fan, numerous dings in the walls that need mud and paint. Fireplace instructions would also be nice. I'm not sure if the flame is functional, but the heat worked.
