House is clean and spacious. Good location! Kitchen is stocked and bathrooms also. Couple thing youâll want to take with, our fam of 12 wish we knew.
Overall, we were pretty frustrated with our experience. When it came to communication, it was unclear if we should associate that with Vrbo, or this particular property. We only received instructions for entry into the property but no check out instructions. Each time I inquired, we did receive a response in a timely manner but was from a different person each time and felt more like customer service generic answers, rather than an actual human being that may take feedback into future consideration. As far as the property goes, the upstairs was nice but the basement smelled SO musty. It felt like we were sleeping in a tent and woke up moist from dew and I was uncomfortable breathing that in. A dehumidifer is not even just recommended but feels required. The basement toilet ran constantly and had so much condensation that it left a puddle overnight and there was mold. There was also trash and wrappers left from previous visitors. Oh and a piece of someones retainer got stuck to my foot.... otherwise, visit was lovely.
The property is in a good location, close to Crystal Lake (which is amazing) and Frankfort, which has a great downtown area with lots of restaurants. The property had 4 bedrooms, did not have air-conditioning in two of the rooms, but it was cool enough with the windows open that it was ok. It was mostly clean aside from one or two minor issues. The fire pit was nice. The main issue was completely non-functioning wifi, and the area has minimal cell phone service. Vrbo was unable to help fix that situation. If you don't mind, then this is a fine place to stay. If you need service or wifi, you might consider looking elsewhere.
The title of this review is a reference to one of the aspects of this house I enjoyed . Looking out the front you look over through tree tops that seem to be cut away just for this view of lake Michigan. Cuting trees would be impossible because we're talking Lake Michigan is 10 miles away The position of the house is awesome for a distant but gorgeous view of lake michigan.
Everyone loved the home. Everything we needed was there. Very clean lots of room for playing in the yard and indoors. Parking worked well for us room for 2 cars and a boat trailor.
Great house, great owner, not great Vacasa experience
The house was perfect. We got a chance to meet the owner due to a small water heater issue and he was also amazing. 10/10 Would rent again, preferably from the owner directly. Unfortunately, Vacasa did a terrible job marketing the house because it claimed to have central AC and then partial AC. Also, calling to get support routes your call to a call center that attempts to 'troubleshoot' your issue first before contacting a 'local team' who can then contact the owner. It's a very convoluted process and we'll definitely never rent through Vacasa again. VRBO is ok most of the time.
A spacious retreat with every amenity located in a hamlet along the Northwest Coast. Perched upon a hillside open lot one has the perfect sledding hill in winter or slip ân slide time in summer.
If one needs daily activities, Frankfort or Manistee are 15 to 20 minutes to shops, eats and traditional hussle and bussle.
But the one that needs to unwind, to appreciate the calm versus the norm come here. Arcadia beach bonfire at dusk, convenient boardwalk stroll through Acadia Marsh Preserve, glorious hikes within 5 minutes north of town. Golfers ten minutes to three memorable courses. Bonus time in mid July to mid August picking cherries in the orchards overflowing.
Retreat to the Other Arcadia.
