Our family really enjoyed our stay. The check in and check out was a breeze. This is a lovely home close to all the outdoor things we love to do in the area. Kitchen is very well stocked and there was plenty of space for everyone. We have spent many years (both summers and winters) vacationing here and we would rent this house again in a heartbeat.
The home is nice for multiple families but we were disappointed by some key things you would expect from a VRBO home. First and most important, it was advertised as having air conditioning. It does not. It has one small unit in an upstairs family room. It was really hot when we stayed there and some family had to sleep downstairs on the couch. Not good when you have a two year old.I've never stayed at a VRBO that did not have garbage service. With three families and four small children, we had alot of garbage that we had to pack out. There was only one towel per person and a washing machine that did not work. No dish towels so alot of paper towels used.Flannel sheets and no top sheet on my bed. Problem getting 3 small children into community pool as it was listed under a different name. Host responsive to that problem. I hope the host takes this as constructive criticism and rectifies the issues as it could be a nice VRBO. We, however, won't be back.
Our family spent the long holiday weekend at the property. The house is very large and easily accommodated our group of 9 adults. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen, hot tub, large deck and spacious outdoor areas as well as how clean and organized everything was. There were plenty of towels and bedding. We were disappointed to find the only air conditioning in the whole house was limited to the one window unit in the upstairs den. Luckily the weather was mild and we stayed comfortable with the ceiling and floor fans that were provided. We would definitely visit again.
Large house in quiet neighborhood, great for multiple families. House is clean, cute, very well stocked and the entire process is very well-organized by host.
Loved the house- well stocked, spacious, quiet and perfect for adults and kids. Location is great- super convenient to skiing, sledding/tubbing, snow play as well as Arnold. We had a really nice stay and look forward to visiting again!
This home is conveniently located so we could quickly get to Bear Valley ski resort without having to battle the snow. The home is large and provides lots of room. Our teenagers had their own living area, which was fantastic. We even got to watch the Superbowl while soaking in the hot tub! Host responds quickly to inquiries; we had no problems and would definitely stay here again.
Once again we had a fantastic family time at the mountain cabin. It's not a cabin but a homey house in the woods. We try to go twice a year because our whole family loves it. You will too!
Great, family and dog friendly experience- will come back!
We loved our stay- such a fun house. The owners really set you up for success with a well stocked kitchen- tons of spices, even a bit of butter in the fridge! The kids enjoyed all the games and ping pong. Our dog loved exploring the outdoors and chasing chipmunks. We went to Lake Alpine our first day which was so picturesque and not crowded at all. It was a perfect day of swimming SUP-ing and there was even live music at the Alpine lodge. The next day we fell in love with the Rec Center- Inner Tube Water Polo was my most joyful discovery of the summer! We would love to be able to come back next summer.
The home is clean and well equipped. The kitchen was perfect for our family, who love to cook. There were games, both indoor and outdoor, that were enjoyed by all. The listing said sleeping for 10; there were 7 of us and it slept 6 comfortably. There are bunk beds in one room that we did not feel were sturdy enough for two children; one of the sofa beds was uncomfortable. One bedroom was too hot to use. There was a window mount air conditioner in the family room but it could not cool all of the bedrooms, in spite of our best efforts. There were two small fans to circulate air, but only one was working. There was plenty of space for sleeping bags, which we brought for the kids. Please note we were there during the heat wave; it would not have been an issue had it not been hot. The location is perfect - between Calaveras Big Trees and Lake Alpine, and easy to get everywhere. The kids loved the HOA pool and activity center, which we have used in the past. However there was not a house guide giving instructions or directions to anything. Some of the amenities were not used because we didn't know how to operate them. Trash needs to be brought out to a nearby collection site, but there were no directions as to how to get there. Prior to check in, the owners were responsive and pleasant. We chose not to contact them while we were there regarding these issues as it is, overall, a beautiful home in a perfect location. We would definitely return.
We had a great stay! A wonderful, roomy property with all the comforts of home. There is so much to do in the area but the cabin is also perfect to stay at and relax. Will book again. Thank you!
We stayed at this property over the Memorial Day weekend and it was perfect for my family. The master bedroom downstairs with large master bath was great for my parents who have trouble with stairs. The upstairs bedroom with bunk beds was a hit with my two boys. And there was a pack-n-play that came in very handy for naptime for my brotherâs little infant. The large living and dining room had ample space for the whole family of 9 to spend time together. The kitchen was well appointed and we made good use of it for all our meals. The hot tub was ideal for a steamy soak after long hikes in the nearby big trees state park. This house is a gem.
We spent about a week at Linda's beautiful home. It was spacious and clean with plenty of space for our family to spread out and enjoy our vacation. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked great meals every day. The kids always had something to do and loved the upstairs area. We had two days of snow and enjoyed sitting on the back deck while the kids and dogs played. The neighborhood is wonderful and really quiet. Linda was super responsive and quick to check in on us as the snow came down about when the snow plow would come through. We had a wonderful vacation at Linda's cabin and hope to stay there again in the future.
This is a second time we stayed at the property and it is perfectly located to be close to snow with kids without having to chain up every time. The development get ploughed well but you can catch times in the morning when you can sled in driveways. We go to bear valley for cross country ski and this is a perfect spot. House is well appointed and feels homey, not like a blank rental
We had a great time at the house for a snow trip. The house was clean, comfortable, and very accommodating. The property manager was very responsive and helpful to all our questions.
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! Fantastic, well-appointed space for two families with 5 kids ages 1-8 years old. It was incredibly clean! There was ample space to hang out and enjoy. The bedrooms offered more than enough space and were very comfortable for all of us (4 adults and the 5 kids). The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking utensils and equipment. The cabin also had a bunch of board games and sleds. We were a great distance away from Bear Valley and were able to hit the slopes early from this location. Wouldnât change a thing about this place! The hosts were very responsive and friendly! The neighborhood is on a bit of an incline to get into, so chains or winter tires +4WD recommended if itâs heavily snowing/icy. The driveway is plowed which is great though! Thank you for a lovely stay!
