The house was nice, but the porches were amazing with amazing views. We seen a mama bear and her five cubs walking in the backyard and then took off to the woods. It was a nice little getaway.
We had a great time at Nanaâs place. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our 1.5 week long visit. We loved the huge deck and my young kids enjoyed exploring the terraced yard and searching for bears they thankfully never found! My only complaint is although the listing makes it clear the owner lives downstairs, it says âwe do not share any of your space.â However this was not the case w the laundry room. It is in a utility room downstairs behind an access controlled door with another door leading to the ownerâs space. Many of the times I went down there, the ownerâs door was open or I worried about disturbing her so it made for a bit of an awkward situation. She was completely friendly about everything and we ended up working out a schedule but with 2 small kids having unlimited access to a washer/dryer was an amenity I specifically sought out when deciding on a rental. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend visiting! Thank you! :)
This property was ideal for our visit to Ashville! Its location gave us great access to all we wanted to do! We enjoyed all the comforts of home allowing us to have a great visit with our out of state guests!!
We had the best time staying here. We were in town for a friendâs wedding and this location was close to downtown and it was super easy to get Ubers/Lyfts for cheap prices. The place was super clean and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone coming to the area!
Felt like being at home. Super clean and stocked with literally anything you could need. Just bring your food and clothing. Five minutes to entrance for Biltmore. House is on a very steep roadway takes a little getting used to if not used to mountain living. House is close to a hospital so there is some helicopter and ambulance traffic but no issues at nighttime. Highly recommend. And we saw a bear with her cubs!
Owner was super responsive. The home was very clean. Owners thought of everything! We really needed nothing that wasn't provided. Would definitely return.
We were the first guests after the horrible hurricaine. Marie was very responsive & kept us up-to-date on the status of the property & the town. The house was immaculate, and very comfortable. Our only issue was with the wine glasses. There were only a few, and they were plastic. Our whole group agreed that we needed more wine glasses, and not plastic. Other than that, our whole stay was terrific! I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ashville or the Biltmore
We were a party of four and really appreciated the cleanliness and character of this home. The beds were comfy and the outdoor spaces wonderful. Thereâs two separate loving and dining areas to enjoy. We saw the resident black bear and enjoyed how close this was to various Asheville spots. Would definitely stay here again.
The home was in a great location, check in was easy and the house was clean when we got there. Communication with the host was great, would stay here again.
This is our 3rd visit to Nana's Place, and each time there are improvements to the property. This time, there were new chairs in the living room, and new shower heads including hand-showers.
It's a great base to explore Asheville - close to downtown, the Biltmore and the River Arts district. You just have to be ready to use a steep narrow road to get in and out, but you get used to it pretty quickly.
As a frequent traveler, location and comfort are critical. Nanaâs is the perfect example of both. We were on a girlsâ trip and planned to visit Biltmore for several days as well as spend time downtown and take a few mountain hikes. Biltmore is literally 5 mins down the road and you can see the estate from the balcony! Downtown is about 10 mins and we were hiking Rocky Fork State Park within the hour. Not only convenient, but the home is spotless and very well apportioned. There were jigsaw puzzles for leisurely mornings and comfy beds to welcome our weary bones in the evenings. Weâll definitely return!!
My friends and I wanted to be close to town because some days we were going in different directions so the location fit our needs perfectly. For those that used Uber it was only about $6 or $7 fare to downtown. We loved sitting on the awesome deck with our morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Our host Marie was engaging and there when we needed her. Shout out to Andrew as well since he responded quickly with answers to questions.
Nanaâs place is inside the city of Asheville a couple of miles from Biltmore Estate, yet when you are there you feel as if you are away from the city. The home is in a quiet neighborhood and we never experienced any disturbances. Marie, the property manager lives in the downstairs apartment so any issues we had were addressed immediately. (Only issue, we needed more bath cloths) The reason for the four star on cleanliness was there was some dusting that wasnât completed, (although Marie offered to do it, but it didnât bother us) there were fingerprints on the deck doors, and a few knats on the window seal in the kitchen. NOTHING that would hinder us from staying here again. These were all just oversights from the cleaning crew.
The home itself was very comfortable for our group of four. Although we did not use many of the kitchen items, it seemed well stocked. The deck area was fabulous and we spent a lot of time out there.
We were able to see a bear on our last morning there, so that was exciting!
We would stay at Nanaâs place again!
