We stayed for two nights while attending a local event. Overall, the place was bigger and cozier than it appearsâclean, quiet, and charming. The driveway easily fit three cars. The main bathroom is modern, the attic bedroom is well-insulated (great for kids), and the deck offers a nice lake view (though thereâs no direct lake access). We appreciated having a dishwasher and detergent on hand.Note about the attic bedroom: there is no inward stair rail--which is a safety hazard. Be cautious when negotiating the steps, especially in socks. To note for travelers: The âfully stockedâ kitchen lacked basics like cooking oil, and many pots and pans were warped/uneven. The coffee pot was in poor shape, so we heated water in a pot. There are no towel racks in the main bathroom, which made drying towels a challenge for our group of five. The half bath is tightâits toilet is tucked away in a corner, the sink can block the door, and the lock doesnât offer much privacy. Floors slope noticeably, and the bed frames squeak if you move around. Thereâs also a salvage yard across the street, but we mostly focused on the back deck. The fees were quite high (over 40% of our total), and while there seems to be a fire pit, it was unclear if the wood was for guests.Despite these quirks, itâs a comfortable spot, and with a few improvements, it could be a real gem.
