When in Auckland I stay at Rydges. Location is awesome for restaurants and cafes. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Car park next door is a tad sketchy but it is inner city parking so probably pretty standard around the world.

We paid for a deluxe room with city views and got the view of an apartment building with men walking around with their underwear. Moved to another room, this time it was an ordinary room. The manager tried to convince us that it was a deluxe room. Clearly it wasn’t a deluxe room. I just felt taken advantage of! We prepaid the room, so tough luck for us! We asked to adjust the price according to the room we were given. They answered that they couldn’t refund us any money.

Great hotel, great location! Very quiet room with nice view. Great restaurant. Friendly staff. Appreciate front desk's help holding our luggage before check-in and after check-out to facilitate our Auckland sightseeing. Small bathroom but fully functional. Highly recommend!
