A couple weeks later, we’re still wishing we were on spring break back in Austin. We had a great time with our three teens at this modern condo, and it quickly felt like home. Justin was super responsive to our questions and he gave tons of suggestions for restaurants and shared interesting details about the local area and it’s history. I wish we could have made his Speakeasy tour fit in our schedule!
Our favorite things about the condo were the modern feel, the location, and the three amazing balconies.
The condo wasn’t huge, but the layout provided plenty of space to hang out together as well as be alone. We just love clean modern design with plenty of room to put our things.
The street had a great vibe with two high-end retail stores right downstairs as well as a fantastically curated vintage shop, great dive bars, food trucks, walking distance to Paperboy (we ate there 3 times in 5 days - 5 stars - don’t miss), and a music venue in the field across the street. Stumbling on live music was a highlight. One evening we heard music and wandered over to check it out. What we found was a few musicians jamming on a stage in a small fenced-in field. We sat at a picnic table and enjoyed the show immensely. We tossed some bills in the can, so hopefully they’ll be jamming when you visit.
For the balconies we liked the small one in the morning with coffee and to watch the chatty Great Tailed Grackle on the light pole. The deck with the daybed was perfect just for lounging during the day or for listening to the blues across the street in the evening. We enjoyed the back deck at night, hanging out by the fire feature and talking about our adventures from the day.
We also had a couple movie nights sprawled out in the living room, an unexpected highlight for a family with three teens/young adults.
Thanks Justin, it was our first taste of Austin, and we’ll definitely be back to stay at your place!
