Older hotel but clean and comfortable. Holiday weekend so very busy in town. The sink in our room needs a new aerator. With just the smallest bit of water pressure it would spray everywhere. I would stay there again.
Property needs a huge upgrade. I had a balcony that I couldn’t use because the door didn’t open the door knob was lose and it looked so unsafe. The bathtub was horrible and rusty. Overall too pricey for what they offered for a smelly room.
If you have to cancel, be sure to do it WAY ahead!
Fiancee had a family issue come up and couldn't go, and I didn't want to go alone. When I went online to cancel the room, I was notified that my cancellation window had expired 3 hours earlier. $210 down the drain!!
Love the view of the ocean from the terrace . Staff is polite and welcoming. Down fall. Hotel does not accommodate luggage hold after check out, which others hotels do offer, and hold luggage till time for persons to take the ferry back to inland .
Needed a night away and got a very spacious room with a beautiful view of the pier are. Would book here again, there was a flashing light on the hallway that made it creepy but overall had a great experience
I try not leave negative reviews but I feel compelled to share my birthday experience. Location was nice and hotel is charming on the outside and in the lobby. Unfortunately walls are very thin and noise travels. Woke up every hour between 11-6am with talking and laughing in the lobby or people walking up the stairs or down the hall. There was some hair left in the shower and the hair dryer smelled like it was about to catch on fire with a melted cord. No comforter and broken window panes. I’m sure some of the other rooms are nicer because I got ours on orbitz so it was probably one of the worse ones. The best part was the roof top deck but other than that I was very disappointed that what was supposed to be a restful getaway turned into a sleepless night.
It was a place to stay is about the nicest thing I can say about this hotel. The staff was not hospitable. We were asked multiple times if we were sure we didn't have a hair dryer on the wall when we called the front desk to request one. We went to the room after we checked in and our keys didn't work and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience of having to lug our back and forth, they accused us of putting the keys too close to our cellphones so they demagnetized. There was mold on the shower walls and the shower head. We had a lovely view from our room window of the lot next door that had been bulldozed and was filled with dirt. We stayed here because everything else was at least $150 more per night. My advice to you, just pay the extra so you avoid this dump.
Hotel St. Lauren is a great budget friendly option when staying on Catalina Island. They also allow single night reservations, while many hotels on the island require two night minimum stays. While older and a bit dated, our rooom was very clean and the bed comfortable. They offer complimentary coffee in the morning to guests. Great views of the ocean and Avalon from their 6th floor terrace.
Hotel and rooms were great, ive read some bad reviews on this property but my experience was great, I stayed in room 309 with a great ocean view and balcony.
The property was fine. Good place to stay. Not luxurious, but good. The best part of the stay was the staff. Instead of waiting and waiting and waiting in line to check in, a second staff member came quickly to check me in to my room. They were friendly and attentive.
