This hotel is adequate and has good and not-so-good aspects. First of all is the late check-in time. 4pm seems a bit late, especially for families. On the good side, we were allowed to use the pool while we waited. The pool is a good resource but as with many MacDonald Hotels these days, parts of it are tired and need work. Half the showers in the changing rooms were not working and created queues. In the room, I was lead to believe from photos that the family room would have a double bed and two singles instead of a double and one single. Adequate but nothing more. Also, the television didn't really work. At first, there was no audio for television and then it would switch off randomly. Wifi wasn't very strong. Breakfast was good.

Super comfy beds, friendly staff, and the food was good. Great place to stay if you're visiting Aviemore for hiking/outdoor activities, espessially since they have a hot tub, pool and sauna which were great after a long day.

According to the hotel description on Expedia, the hotel has coin laundry facilities, but when I arrived at the hotel, I found out the hotel does not have any of those, which was extremely inconvenient.

The room was tired and in urgent need of TLC. It was not the cleanest of hotels either. I was disappointed as I have always admired from a far and was looking forward to this stay with my family. Cleanliness should be a given at least but sadly I had to endure what was as it was under staffed and if I asked any questions it always seemed to be a struggle or inconvenience.

Room was comfy. It just needs a little upgrading in some areas. Bathroom needs painting etc. Still enjoyable. Breakfast was nice. I ate on site at the Italian. Food was nice and service was great.

Never again until place had been upgraded.

Macdonald hotel was meant to be 4 star. Can safely say 2/3 star. Mould in bathrooms. Unclean bathroom floors. Side panal of the path was water damaged by many years of usage. The buildings are very old now and in major need of upgrade and repair. Including restuarants. We have visited maybe 5 times over the last 10 years and this time was the most disappointing. It doesnt have the 4 star feel and next time definitely be booking else where sad to say. Time for some maintenance. Couldnt even get a latte with breakfast, had to pay extra. Paid £650 for 2 nights and couldnt even have a latte for breakfast. 😂 The staff were friendly.

The room smelt of damp, restricting my breathing considerably and needing an emergency prescription. I requested a dehumidifier but was assured they could use a purifier when I was out of the room, no evidence this was executed as it didn’t help. When I expressed my concern at reception I was told they would look out for the next customer. I feel I should have been offered another room as I tried to explain I am asthmatic and a diabetic….. This spoilt my stay and I will not be staying again. A real pity as the breakfast was very good and the restaurant staff were excellent.
