Solid Stay

The house could use some upgrades. However everything was as expected. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of linens/towels/kitchen things. The host was VERY easy to communicate with and responded quickly. Close to the beach in a quiet area. Would recommend staying here.

Good location but bugs in the house

First and probably last visit to the Outer Banks. Pros: The outside things Location walk over the sand dune to the beach Hot tub was fun Crows nest deck has an amazing view. Best seat in the house. Cons: The inside of the house Bugs. So many ants...also cockroaches, large black water bugs, and tan multi leg sand bugs. The property manager had an exterminator out the same day I contacted her. However we continued to kill bugs. General dirt and dirty dishes put away. We were uncomfortable in the house. Thinking about going back to hotels.

4 brothers in law fishing trip

It was a perfect setting. Walking distance and beach chairs for surf fishing and easy access to minimal shopping needs. Only criticism (and it’s very mild) was a stubborn coffee maker. Also, the DW could use an upgrade, rusty prongs which are in the process of falling off. Very minor complaints compared to the overall comfort.

Clean and well stocked

Property was as described and was in a great location. When we arrived everything was ready and the property was very well cleaned. The hot tub, the views and location are perfect for a nice getaway. There is plenty to do all around the property and stores and restaurants are all nearby.

Great location but house not clean or maintained

TV in king and twin bed rooms were not working. When turned on they showed no service. The king bedroom was discussing. When we pulled out the dresser to try and hook up the TV we found 2 used female pads at the back with a clump of hair and broken off finger nails stuck to them.The vent going to the A/C unit had so much dirt and lint on it that it was almost closed off. When I opened the door to check the filter found that it was so clogged it may have not been changed in a year or more. That explained why we all were sneezing so much. We’re we’re going to use blankets the 1st night but when we opened the closets in the 2 king size bed rooms they had been used and just stuffed back on the top shelf.For sure used but never recleaned. I called the agent the next morning after we arrived and she said she would send her guy right over. We waited and waited but later got a text saying he was not coming and that he broke a wisdom tooth at another location. We went and bought a lot of cleaning supplies and sanitize the house. Later got a text that another guy would come the next day. Now it’s more than 1/2 way through our stay. She said he would come by10:00am. Waited and he should up about 10:45. Another wasted day for us to see things.When he arrived he only changer the A/C filter. Did not clean the vent. He did remove the female pads but did not know how to get the TVs working.This was the worst experience ever at VRBO.Called 7 times to speak to a U.S. rep but no response

Amazing view

We had a wonderful week in this lovely home! It is a bit dated, but comfortable and clean. The beds and furniture were comfortable, the hot tub was much appreciated after coolish days of surf fishing and the views from the crows nest were absolutely the best on the island!!! The location on Avon was perfect for us, as it is on the Northern side and a bit quieter. Communication was excellent and check in was a breeze. We would love to stay here again!!!

We spent a few days with our children here and it was absolutely perfect! Very clean, spectacular views, privacy, and the host was extremely helpful and communicative. We would absolutely recommend this house to anyone searching for a peaceful getaway. We loved every minute and hope to come back soon!

Classic beach house with stellar view

We very much enjoyed our stay at this classic beach house with a stellar view! It’s the perfect location for a family vacation. The quiet and spacious beach setting provided the perfect spot to settle in to our beach reads, splash in the waves and play in the sand. The upper deck was amazing for sunrise, sunset and evening star gazing. The house had everything we needed, was tidy and clean. The decor was light and pleasant. We would certainly stay here again!

Lovely home in Avon

Beautiful beach home. Just steps from the beach. We went during the early spring, before lots of tourists were around. It was very chill and very nice. Would recommend.

Avon is our preferred OBX spot and we got what we wanted from our stay: a quiet beach to fish and swim, a clean house with a good host, the bait shop and coffee place right around the corner, and a grocery store minutes down the road. View from top deck is spectacular! Good exercise traversing the dunes to the beach. Would come again.

Love this Place!!

I have been visiting OBX for years and found this gem back in January. It was a girls getaway. The communication with the property management was at the highest level. Any questions that we needed answered were extremely quick and helpful. Beautiful home. The top deck is a definite to see the stars at night and the ocean. The only thing I will caution to all renters.... The beach is a little bit of a hike, so be prepared to walk through the sand to make it to the beach. I had to rethink my items to drag to the beach. The pictures do share this information. We all know the sandspurs are a definite, so make sure to wear those shoes until you get to the actual beach. I would highly recommend this home to all renters. The owners have worked very hard to make their home a beautiful place to visit. Thank you again for a wonderful relaxing visit.

Amazing Beachfront Stay

The house is right on the beach with amazing views from either the home or elevated deck. It perfectly fit our group of 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Easy walk to the Dairy Queen or Froggy Dog. We often found ourselves enjoying an evening beer on the elevated deck with the views and a fresh breeze.

Amazing location!

Fabulous spot on the beach! Plenty of space, indoors and out! Washer/dryer came in handy with the family. We loved the hot tub and the several outdoor decks. And so close to places for takeout.
