We did not receive any check in instructions by 2pm on day of stay. Called host to ask for them. On the call the host said the stay was not available and cancelled. If we didnât call to ask for the check in instructions we wouldnât even have known. They didnât have the courtesy to tell us in advance. We were in the area for a wedding so we needed a place to stay overnight regardless. I donât understand how one can have a confirmed reservation and the host can just decide to cancel on a whim (on the day of check in itself!) and the only recourse is to get a refund??? Never again.
No communication about how to get in until I asked so we were stuck outside for half an hour. It was freezing when we got in. Put the heating on straight away and it took about 5 hours to warm up as many of the windows need replacing and two of them are so broken they won't shut. The whole place has a cheap feel, bad bedding, not enough pillows, fridge noisy. I'm glad we only had one night booked. It was fairly clean. Lots of things offered on the website didn't exist, like printer or internet access. There's a telly, but it's not logged in so you can't watch anything unless you have a hotspot with you. Needs more investment.
