Great location in a great little town. April was extremely responsive to every question we had. The cabin was simple, but met our needs. We had a great time.
Lovely little cabin, love the old style, exactly what we expected, loved the hot tub off the bedroom, cozy, beautiful scenery, enjoyed our morning walks, n the 2 visitors, so cute and friendly, donkey n partnerâșïž, thank you April, enjoyed our 5 day stay
Super helpful host. Goes way beyond expectations to accommodate your stay. The cabin is clean and close to town. The property is easy to find even at night.
If you are expecting a Hilton, you are going to be dissapointed. This stay has the basics to enjoy the simpleness of nature that surrounds you. We relaxed in the chilled cabin
Very Cozy feels like a family guest house. Very Welcoming.
We will definitely come back here. It feels like a family Guest house. Love the old things around & the little Hot Tub was so nice on a rainy Saturday. The sâmores were delicious. So glad I found this one.
Another successful anniversary trip to this little Cabin in the Woods. We absolutely love this place and are already planning our trip for next year. This time we took advantage of the outdoor grill and went over to the pond to use the fire pit for S'mores. As long as we are able, we will continue to go back.
Matches the description very well. Pretty much an old hunters cabin or cowboy house. Secluded and in the woods made for very nice privacy and the views you get looking over the country side while bbqing were nice in the evenings. Hot tub was relaxing and they cooked us an amazing breakfast!! Definitely worth it and was tempting to even ask for more. Overall was great.
We had a few encounters with the big red bees in fire pit and around the hot tub. A curtain would of been nice in the bedroom and fluffier pillows. The breakfast was great. Our overall experience was awesome! Scenery was pretty as well, and Mrs. April kept communication easy and prompt to answer all my questions, WE DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE AND COME BACK FOR ANOTHER ESCAPE. THANK YOU AGAIN
A great cabin to stay at. The location of the cabin provides plenty of privacy. The king size bed is comfortable. The kitchen provides the basics that you need. The fridge is a bit smaller than the picture. The WiFi didnât work but me and the wife didnât come to the hill country for that. The hot tub was clean but we didnât get a chance to use it. The same with the charcoal grill we didnât get a chance to use it but it looked usable.
Overall, the stay was nice. I was surprised that the hot tub water was brown and the bottom/sides were a little slimy.
The hot water in the shower faded in and out and we wished the gate was electronic entry. We also were expecting the âsâmores barâ talked about in the listing, but the âheaterâ was on top of the entertainment center & the EMPTY (& dirty) caddy & marshmallow sticks were in the pantry.
Other than those things, we got what we were looking for, a quiet, secluded place to unwind & relax after the holidays.
At first we thought that everything was going to be ok. Then the adventure began . Everything was falling apart and what wasn't falling apart didn't work . Everything was dirty floors haven't been swept freezer on fridge was a solid block of ice .Tried to open the cabinet and the handle was barley stuck on and fell off in my hand . Not to mention the ants that had invaded the kitchen. The washer would work but the dryer door was busted . It was supposed to be a special trip for me and my daughter and at first she was all about trying to make it work but after 3 days she finally threw in the towel and told me dad can we just go . So we left after 3 days and I paid for 4. I think we both just wanted that part of the trip over . I / we won't be back .
There was some pros and cons.
First when we got there our check in was at 3pm, we got there at 3:10 byt weren't able to get into the property until 3:30pm because it wasn't ready.
The cabin is really old, and to be honest we past drive hy it thinking theres no way thats the one.
The jacuzzi that they advertise its an inflatable one which is not a big deal, the thing is that we couldn't get in it of how dirty it was, it had a really strong chemical odor and water was super slamy, so we just skipped it, which i was super disappointed because that was the only why i choose that property.
The bed had bedbugs and blankets smelled so bad.
We didnt make a big deal because we only stayed there one night and honestly we wanted to focus on each other in our anniversary night, honestly didn't feel like arguing and wasting my time making phone calls.
The only good thing was the privacy and the amount of land that this property is on, so peaceful and quiet.
I wouldn't stay there again.
We reserved this cabin to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. The initial search criteria were: king bed and outdoor jacuzzi. Then we scrolled through tons of properties looking for lots of privacy and close little town with historical interest no more than a 3 hour drive from our home. We found this little gem that delivered on every filter. Being from the city, the peace and quiet of the area was calming. Seeing all the deer surrounding the property was beautiful. We are native Texans and still learned history that we did not know from the little town of Bandera. This "Hunters Cabin" was exactly what we wanted. Now for the small negatives: bring your own towels and washcloths (especially if you plan to use the Jacuzzi). The ones provided were a little on the thin side for our tastes. The toilet paper was even thinner. There were no full-size dinner plates and if I hadn't of brought my own skillet we would have had challenges preparing our own planned breakfast. If you plan to use the outdoor jacuzzi bring bug spray to battle the mosquitoes (it's Texas, after all). We used "Yard Guard" which worked fairly well. Back to the positives: we think this may become an annual favorite place for us; that's how much we loved it. The hosts were extremely responsive.
