Hotels needs improvement

We booked for 3 nights. First night our room was hot and stuffy- temperature was 27C, when I raised this staff said it’s central climate control & heating comes on when outside temp is below 18C - nothing can be done apart from supply fans & open windows (room facing a busy noisy road) so we had no sleep. We changed rooms the next day to face a quieter side of building but somehow the air conditioning was now working at 20C and outside temp was below 18C? Room was dusty & not cleaned properly as skirting boards were covered in dust. I know it’s only 3 star hotel but I would expect room to be cleaned properly.

I am a wheelchair user and require a fully wheelchair-accessible room when I travel. To avoid any issues, I contacted the hotel more than five days before my arrival to ensure they were aware of my accessibility needs and to make my stay comfortable. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the room provided was not suitable for a wheelchair user. It lacked an accessible washroom and the basic features required for people with disabilities. I want to be clear; the receptionist and hotel manager were both very kind and genuinely tried to help, but unfortunately, their hands were tied due to hotel policies and limitations. What surprised me even more is that, in situations like this, I would normally rely on using the swimming pool area facilities to at least take a shower. However, this hotel’s swimming pool area has zero wheelchair accessibility. This left me with no accessible options to manage basic hygiene after a long journey. Once again, I want to emphasize that the hotel staff did their best and were very understanding. The real issue lies with the hotel ownership and, to some extent, the city regulations that allow businesses to operate without meeting basic accessibility standards. It’s truly disappointing. Canada is known as one of the most inclusive and progressive countries in the world, yet businesses are still able to open and operate without considering people with disabilities; people who trust these businesses, spend their money, and simply want to enjoy a few day

It's a lovely property situated in a perfect spot, within walking distance to Banff Ave and Bow River. My room was clean, beds were comfortable and quiet. One of the restaurants is currently being renovated but there is access to another one which is really lovely and delicious. Either way there are many options all within a short walking distance. Given a chance, I would consider the Banff Park Lodge again.

Although the property was undergoing renovations, we still greatly enjoyed our stay! The staff was more than accommodating, calling ahead of time to ensure we were ok with the remodeling going on and asking if we wanted to upgrade to a room with a view. It was convenient to be able to text the front desk via messages or WhatsApp. Banff is a wonderful town!

We go to Banff park lodge with all our overseas guests every year but this year we were disappointed. I was advised when booking that there were a few renovations on rooms but that it would not affect the stay. We were given a 3rd floor room (with a double stroller and 2 small children) and the elevator was out of service (due to renovations) so we could not bring our stroller to our room. Ice machine was moved off the floor to the parkade and then an alarm (not set by us) went off in the room at 6am waking my 2 sleeping children. Still a good location but spent a lot of money and was disappointed this time.

We stayed 5 days at this property in a room with 2 queen beds. The rooms have recently been refurbished and our room was quite pleasing. It was large. Had a wide sliding French door which opened onto a small terrace which overlooked Lynx Street. The room had 3 armchairs, a small area with a sink, a small countertop, microwave and a small fridge. The bathroom had a tub with new shower. There was a grab bar for safety but it was situated such that one could not utilize it when getting out of the tub. The location of the hotel is ideal. Close to downtown Banff and yet on a quiet street. We slept with the sliding door open. Its more upscale sister property is across the street and the more budget friendly sister property on one side, close to the Bow River. One of its 2 restaurants was closed. La Terrazza it’s “Italian” restaurant was open and we breakfast and one dinner there. The lobster bisque, the Steelhead Trout Gravlax, the Tiramisu Semifroddo, Turkish eggs and Avocado Bagel were outstanding. The Australian & English (British) waitresses provided a fast, efficient and friendly service. Sophie at front desk gave us a warm welcome. And the presence of laundry was a huge bonus. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Super friendly staff. The rooms were lovely, lots of space and very comfortable and clean. The hotel was undergoing construction, but I really only noticed it in small places. It was very crowded because there was a lot of tours coming through, but the location is excellent right downtown and near everything.
