I was put in an annex area of the hotel. Up two fights of very steep stairs . Very musty smell in hallway . Very dingy and I uninviting Very difficult to get up the stairs with my heavy luggage. No warning of this in reservation. The staff trying to help were not strong enough. The room was a good size but worn and dated. The bed was poor quality . Very soft and low . The bathroom had good hot water and pressure but it was a tub with a hand head and no shower curtain…the toilette paper was issued as in a public washroom . One piece at a time. I could not get the safe to work. There was no mini fridge. The public areas of the main building were really dated and worn and unattractive.

Hotel & Spa du Luxembourg

Our room was sufficient size for 2 travelers. However, we had 2 issues, one minor the second significant. First, the pillows were small and every time we turned over, we had to wake up enough to adjust our pillows. More problematic was the safety issue with the tub/shower facilities. As seniors, we found getting in and out of the tub/shower unsettling as the level of the tub bottom is higher than the bathroom floor. Moreover, there are no safety measures inside the tub/shower. First, no anti-slip items on the tub bottom, so footing was/is a constant concern. Second, the shower walls lacked any handles or grab bars so with a slick tub bottom and no way to hold on, showering was a risk every morning.

Lovely hotel. Quadruple room actually had a double and two singles, which is quite unusual in France, I've found. Pool and hot tub both great. Good valua spa access for residents. Free parking available 2 min walk up the road. Great stay - thanks!

We absolutely loved our stay at this intimate and lovely hotel. The staff was so friendly and had wonderful recommendations for restaurants and directions to attractions. The only problem for me was the lighting in our room was so dim it was hard to do my face. We will definitely be back if possible!

Pros: great staff; convenient location; big corner room with 3 windows and ability to get a cross breeze; nespresso machine and nespresso-branded pods in the room; comfortable bed Cons: dated and not what you would expect for a 4-star hotel. Our room was located up a narrow flight of stairs (no elevator) that smelled musty at the top and in the hall; from our room we could hear everyone going up and down the stairs to the floor above; no AC in the room and the provided fan was caked with dust; the room was very sparse with no decoration and didn’t include amenities like a robe to wear to the pool, or a steamer or iron. The bathroom was the most modern part of the room but badly planned with a huge sink, but no counter space or shelf and a shower where you had to squeeze into a corner, where the faucet was, in order to not flood the whole space. We were also over the entrance to the garage and on several occasions people would just sit under the room and rev their motorcycles, creating a lot of noise.

The hotel is beautiful, in an old mansion that was once inhabited by writer Gustave Flaubert. The rooms were nicely sized, and room amenities (water, coffee, etc) were replenished everyday of need be. Staff were So friendly and helpful. Our only constructive criticism is that the WiFi was not very strong: it was in and out. However everything else was wonderful!

Historic gem in the center of Bayeux

This was our base during our visit to Normandy. Located in a central location to restaurants and shopping, it was a lovely historic hotel. There was no air conditioning, but there was a fan - which was great. Staff was courteous and helped with all our questions. Taxis are readily available to get to the train station. Will stay there again should we ever find ourselves in Bayeux. Exactly as described.

My wife and I stayed two nights at the hotel and found the staff friendly and accommodating. The hotel was in a perfect location, walking distance to all the great restaurants and attractions. The room was nice and quiet but I didn’t find the mattress comfortable. The room had a fan which kept it cool as it had no A/C. Unfortunately the Jacuzzi was not working but the pool and bar areas were nice.

We stayed two nights in the spa terrace sweet. It was very nice and quiet. There is no AC but windows opened and we had a breeze. The bathroom and toilet were separate which was nice and we had a rain shower.
