Le Pilot House B & B (construit en 1994) au centre-ville de Bayfield est l'ancien emplacement du célèbre Island View Hotel à Bayfield. À seulement 1 pâté de maisons de l'eau! Vraiment la meilleure vue sur l'île Madeline, le port du lac Supérieur et le centre-ville de Bayfield, Wisconsin.

My two Sons and I had a wonderful stay. It was quiet, clean, well appointed, and perfectly located just a few blocks from downtown - but still high on the hill with beautiful views.

Autumn Visit

We stayed in Bayfield, Wisconsin for a few days in the autumn. The B&B was very comfortable and Admiral Quarters room was an excellent place to stay for our visit. The bed was very comfortable. Jack and Marie were excellent hosts.

We enjoyed our stay in the Admiral’s Quarters—very spacious bedroom and bathroom. We enjoyed the private balcony, as well as the common spaces, with their lovely view of the water. Our time was relaxing! Bayfield visitors need to be prepared for walking steep hills in town and on the driveway!

Girls trip to Bayfield

The Pilot House was well situated, walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Bayfield. The room was clean and comfortable and just right for my mom and daughter and me. Breakfast was limited. Our host was very friendly.

Admirals Quarters was worth the price. The suite was on the main floor - no stairs to negotiate and adjacent to deck with view of bay and town. Restaurants, shops, and attractions were an easy walk from the house - great location. So might mention the view comes at a price - a steep driveway - but we just looked at the climb as a fitness bonus.

Good Stay

My wife and I had a nice three-night stay at Pilot House. The location in Bayfield is fantastic with close walking access to the main commercial area and the bayfront. Booking was easy, communication with owners was quick and easy, and access to the building was simple. Our room, "Admiral's Quarters,' was clean, comfortable and good-sized, with nice views of the lake. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is pleasantly large and bright, with a good shower and good sized walk-in closet. The public area of the B&B is beautiful, incorporating two sitting areas, a fireplace and the dining/kitchen area, also with beautiful views of Lake Superior and Madeline Island. We would certainly recommend, though just a few things prevent a five-star review. (1) The "Admiral's Quarters" room is a bit dated and could use a modernizing and brightening spruce-up. Other rooms in Pilot House may be worth checking out. (2) The breakfast part of B&B was a bit underwhelming, consisting of self-serve-from-the-fridge store-purchased muffins, yogurts and juices. Coffee is made in your room. It served us fine, but be aware if you are used to more elaborate B&B breakfast spreads; (3) there is a small outdoor deck with a lovely view that also could use some sprucing up to make more inviting. All-in-all, a very pleasant stay in a beautiful home at a great location that we would recommend.

Another great stay

This is our third time to this property but the first time in this accommodation. We loved the spaciousness of the room with private entrance to a lovely balcony overlooking the ferry dock and Lake Superior. The whole experience of Bayfield has been influenced by our stays at the Pilot House. Jack, the property owner is exceptional to work with too. Highest recommendation.

Advertised by VRBO as 2 bedroom. Was only one bedroom with 2 beds. Had to sleep in a tent to accommodate my 2 other travel mates. Owner was kind enough to credit me back but this error put a damper on our trip

Perfect location! Beautiful views!

The Pilot House was in a perfect location for catching the ferry to Madeline Island and also walking around Bayfield. We enjoyed the views of the lake from two different decks. The house and rooms were spacious and also cozy and very clean. Jack was also very friendly and helpful with our stay.

Jack was very friendly and the property clean and comfortable. I loved the views and sitting out on the deck with the view of the bay! I would have appreciated good coffee in the main area- not worth making the boring stuff and waking up my family. Not really a bed and breakfast with the muffin, juice, and yogurt offered. Very steep driveway and my car repeatedly bottomed out going in :(

Jack was accommodating. Room with a patio had an excellent view of harbor. Thought we had booked 2 rooms for 4 people. Turned out to have 1 large bedroom with 2 beds and 1 large bathroom. Breakfast was not quite what we expected as it was a muffin, orange juice and small yogurt.

Beautiful Bayfield

Lovely community. Beautiful accommodations. Family friendly city. The Pilot House has a very steep driveway , it may prove difficult for the elderly or physically handicapped. I am a coffee drinker and i found only one coffee place in town. Take a trip to Bayfield you will be glad you did😀
