Overall we were disappointed by our stay. The listing came up when we searched for houses IN Sunriver. The listing at no time disclosed that this house was located well outside of the Resort, or that it was located down a long gravel road at the edge of a neighborhood that was not suitable for biking. If this had been made clear in the listing, we definitely would not have stayed here. We expected a house at the edge of the village that would have bike access to trails and amenities. In a word - nope.
The listing also stated that the house had AC. IT DID NOT. Fortunately the manager contacted us a few days beforehand and apologized for the miscommunication. We also got a small credit for the inconvenience and were told it would be fine if we left the windows open at night to cool the house and shut them during the day. That did not work. The kids were freezing at night with the windows open and the cool air did nothing to mitigate the sweltering 96 degree days. The house stayed stuffy and hot the entire time.
Also, many of the windows did not close properly which left us with the choice of leaving the windows fully closed but unlocked (which would be a security concern) or locking the windows which left them slightly open and freezing at night.
When we arrived the house appeared clean but upon closer examination we found the shag carpet had hair in it. We vacuumed twice during our stay.
There were other things that were not as advertised. The photo featured a hammock, but one was not seen or easily found. The listing said game systems were available but those were not there.
I will say that the house was somewhat nice, but the experience was lacking because of the extreme discordance between the listing and the experience. In the future this house should not come up in the search results for sunriver rentals. If it does, there should be language clearly identifying its location outside the village, and that the village is not easily accessible with bikes.
