The bed linen and towels were clean, but our room was dusty and dirty. The hotel generally was unkempt and needs a lot of care, repair and deep cleaning. We raised cleanliness with reception. They were not able to clean our room, housekeeping had gone home for the day. They offered a complimentary breakfast, which was fine, but I’d rather have a clean room

My wife and I have stayed at the Shamrock numerous times over the past 2+ decades, and it never disappoints. We love the historic value, the layout and feel of the property, and the character it exudes. We have stayed on different floors in different rooms and suites. The property is private, restful and quiet, with the exception of normal street noise. This visit, we noticed that some upkeep is necessary. I can only speak for our room and the main areas, but could do with some new carpet, deep cleaning, and a lick of paint. Our guest room would benefit from some new furniture, window coverings and some decent cleaning. The cleanliness, as well as the dated and worn furnishings and decorations are letting your standard down. Beautiful bathroom, but lacking a proper shower, which is simply mounted over the bath. Property Manager, you could very easily turn this property into a genuine 4 or 5-star hotel with very little effort or cost, and we would love to see it updated! I’m sure we will be back.

This is a grand old hotel just oozing with historical charm. All the staff were enthusiastically willing to please. The only down side was the accessibility. While there is a lift to access the floors, there were also stairs WITHIN the rooms which were difficult for my elderly parents to negotiate. That aside, the hotel was above expectations.

The room was very clean and the bed super comfortable. I love the old world charm and the beautiful staircase. I would highly recommend staying in the Shamrock.
