Itâs a good place to stay in the Manchester area, conveniently located. The building is old and has some wear to it but itâs cute and homey and Frank is very sweet and accommodating.
At first we werenât too sure, as we arrived at night and it felt like walking into a strangers house. However, after we got more comfortable we loved it. No cleanliness issues, very easy to come in and out. Very close to everything youâd want in Manchester and easy parking.
Frank, the owner was very pleasant and helpful in locating restaurants and sites. The room was very comfortable and warm. The whole atmosphere of this Inn was very pleasant, and I would recommend it highly!
Is not what it was expected. On the website it shows as hotel motel , but it was airbnb, like boarding house. The hosts was nice and accommodating, but again not what it was expected.
Great place if you know what to expect. Sutton's Place is a classic New England bed and breakfast, only without the breakfast. You are renting a room in a historic house, not a hotel. The owners are very friendly, accommodating and gave great recommendations. They live in the house as well so they are easy to find if you need anything. Our room was clean and comfortable with a shared bathroom. The bathroom was shared with our adjacent room, and had a door into each room which could be locked for privacy. There is also a separate unattached bathroom down the hall, so we never had an issue of waiting for a bathroom. The location is great, within walking distance for the little downtown where there are some great restaurants and bars. We stayed here for a Stratton ski trip. The mountain is an easy 20 min drive (or 35 min in a blizzard) away. It is nice to stay in a real town instead of the very small villages closer to Stratton.
You should expect an experience similar to a bed and breakfast or an Airbnb room in a private home. If you are expecting homey comforts and not a chain hotel, you will have a great time! Would definitely stay again.
Suttonâs Place was great. If you are just looking for a cozy place to stay and sleep then this is the place. Granted its no Upscale hotel or bed and breakfast. My girlfriend and I just wanted a place to sleep and shower, and this was the best place. It is walking distance to everything in Manchester. We had 24 hour access to the place. Our room was cozy and warm. Bathroom was clean and good hot water. You can brew coffee in the morning in the family room, where there are couches, books, and more. If you do not like coffee then you can get tea. For breakfast in the morning you can walk into town and get breakfast at Up For Breakfast which Mr. Sutton recommended to us and it was great. We would stay here again.
Frank is a wonderful, welcoming host. He offered up lots of activity and restaurant recommendations, and even offered to drive us to a trailhead for a hike! The room was very comfortable and clean, as was the bathroom. The house he lives in is beautifully kept and welcoming. You are within walking distance from the center of town where there are lots of things to see and do. I can't say enough lovely things about Sutton's place and Manchester. We had a lovely weekend!
This was ok for just one night. Shared bathrooms. No breakfast, but told where we could go buy breakfast. Beds were hard. Nice location to go walk around town. Cute town. The owner Frank was very nice and personable.
Starting with the positive It was in a good location and the host was pleasant. The accommodation however; wallpaper peeling off the wall, it said it had air conditioning in the summer, it was 86 degrees the day we went and no air conditioning just a fan. No coffee available, or even water, the soap had been used by previous guests not a new individual bar and the towels were way beyond their best.
The outside of the building is nice. The inside is very dusty. my son had an asthma attack and had to switch hotels and Frank still charged us for the cancelled room the second night.
Out dated, dusty, old shampoos in showers, hair balls included on the bars of soap left in showers.
Old towels and linens.
It is just outdated...beds were ok...
Really great place for hikers or bikers. I think people would think it was a palace if they were used to sleeping on the mountains etc.
Frank went out of his way to give us the best experience we could ask for, including recommending the perfect restaurant and personally guiding us to a special lake.
