Super cute, tons of room, big baths. Could have had a couple coffee cups since there was a pot, and I wish it was a little more private but some of the cabins were.
The area is gorgeous snd the cabin was clean and well maintained. However, it was very minimally stocked. The description mentioned that sheets were provided, and they meant just that, only sheets were provided. There weren't any bedspreads or blankets in the cabin any where. The kitchenette was tiny with a dorm-sized refrigerator, coffeemaker, sink and microwave. Only paper plates and cups were provided and we reused them because we only received 4-5 of each for a 3 night stay.
I have been coming to Berkeley Springs/Coolfont many times over the past 25 years. This is the first time that I was not completely happy with our lodging. I purposely picked a cabin that said it had a fire pit. When we arrived, our cabin did not have one, despite the description saying that it did. I was told by the front desk that there was a âcommunal â fire pit across the road from our cabin. Another family had not only parked their car in the fire pit area that was for everyoneâs use, but they unpacked what looked like all of their supplies along with chairs and grills and stayed around the clock, to make sure no one else could use it. The pool also closed at six, which was odd, considering it was a holiday weekend. This may seem like a small thing, but when you have a group that loves to sit around the fire and spend time with each other, purposely picking a cabin that said they had their own fire pit, and you get there and they donât, it is beyond disappointing. The area and the cabinet itself was lovely, but the descriptions of the cabins need to be updated to be accurate. Not every cabin has a fire pit. Other than that, Coolfont is a great place to stay.
Quick getaway for family. Cabin was excellent, beds very comfortable, wood floors, 2 br, 2 bath perfect for our group. Nice jacouzi in master br upstairs. Ramp to front door, perfect for our elderly dog. Only thing the kids didnât like was no internet at the cabin - would have to go to the spa to have internet. Sliding glass door to balcony with chairs was a plus.
We got here on friday afternoon got checked right in. The cabin is so nice, clean and spacious perfect for our anniversary weekend. We are talking about coming back with our kids next time. Hiked through the woods and it wa sa beautiful walk. Hughly recommend.
Our cabin was clean, downstair beds were comfy. Upstair bed was too firm for us. Bathrooms were large. Huge tubs. Only draw back was pool closed to eatly and no jacuzzi. Also restauranthad burned down in Januarybut they are rebuilding. Dirt road to cabins was rough but it is april and has been a rough winter so i am sure they will fix once weather is better. Very nice place. Suggestions, add kurieg makers and somto cook on besides microwave. Loved our 2 dnight stay. Very friendly.
We had a wonderful stay on a wonderful property for our first trip as a family of 3 with our one year old! We would highly recommend this resort and cabin and would visit again any day! It was warm, cozy, and the staff were above and beyond friendly and accommodating
First Iâd like to say the cabin is cute. The location is close to town. The cabin was clean and looks to have been recently remodeled.
Now the bad. The cabin was not as advertised and the listing was dishonest. The cabin was listed on Vrbo as having a fireplace. In the photos of the cabin listing there is a wood burning stove. Unfortunately there was no fireplace or wood stove. We were very disappointed. I was not notified until checking-in that the cabin has no internet service. This was not in the listing which I feel is deceptive. The cabins are in a small village of A-frames jammed in against each other. Our fire pit was between our cabin and our neighborâs cabin and sat 5ft from the edge of the other cabinâs roof/wall. A dangerous fire hazard. Drafty windows made the cabin quite cold. There were not enough blankets for us to use so we had to pull blankets off the second bed to stay warm. The amenities are bare bonesâno toaster, tiny coffee maker, no kitchen towels, no glasses! The Sofa in the living room is old and worn out youâre basically sitting on a wood frame. We had to use bed pillows to sit comfortably. The entire operation seems like a ploy to force you into the lodge for their pay-to-play options. The host provided poor communication. I had to spend 40min chatting with Vrbo to get check-in instructions before we could leave for our trip. The experience was poor. We will not be staying at Coolfont Lodge again. and Resort again.
My family is a big fan of glamping. It was one of our best cabin site compare to the similar size I have been. Very clean, new kitchen equipments, and bathrooms. It is a little smaller size than I thought but a two big rooms
The resort is at a great location with well-maintained amenities and accommodations. The staff is very friendly. My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Coolfont resort.
Hot tub and sauna are out of order and there is a horrifically loud fan in the dimly-lit pool area making relaxation impossible. The locker room and shower facilities were shabby with standing water and mildew; hot water available in only one shower. Needs serious renovation. ALL the machines in the fitness room were broken down. No one on site at the fitness/pool center.
This Coolfont cabin was the perfect weekend home for our family of four (and our dog). Friendly staff at the lodge welcomed us with giant smiles and answered all our of questions. The cabin was cozy and warm with ample space. Large, clean bathrooms. Especially loved the wood stove. We enjoyed the hiking and biking trails nearby, as well as the on-site restaurant, on-site pool and brew pub just across the street. Will definitely be back!
We had an amazing time! 2 out of 4 of our party were never there and were so impressed! Will definitely return! Thank you for providing this property for us to enjoy!
