the photos of the rooms are NOT from this hotel, the rooms are out dated and in need of decorating, told on arrival that the bar and kitchen has been closed for over a month, i booked because the restaurant said what great food they serve, i only booked 5 days before arrival and told about the restaurant and bar, hotel in middle of no where.took me 30 minutes to drive to the nearest restaurant that opened on a monday.hotel are liars, and the photos are pure lies.
Guy on reception friendly. Car park is across from a very busy road. You take your life in your hands! Building quaint but very run down. Continual breakfast was probably the poorest fare I have ever been offered. Traffic very noisy, no air con so donât stay in hot weather.
The Jersey Arms was nice, old and full of character though no mention of bar & restaurant being closed for refurbishing! Staff were very helpful and rooms were very clean though bed not very comfy on mattress though nice to include simple breakfast although I donât participate but my friend did
This property looked lovely in the photos but in reality it was very poor
Unkempt on the outside and only rooms available no other facilities ie bar etc
Room was ok but bathroom was dirty with the bath tiles mouldy and the loo was dirty with bad limescale
Headboard was not attached to bed and every movement made in bag on the wall this disturbing next door room
Disappointed that the pub part of the hotel is closed, but advised as open. Very run down such a shame as it could be a beautiful place. Stair way to the room was very smelly. The room was ok but could have been looked after a little more. Bathroom not the cleanest.
I had a lovely stay. The location was perfect for me and the receptionist or manager was really helpful and thoughtful. He gave me a room with a bath as requested, helped carry my luggage and provided a quiet space for a conference call with tea and coffee. I couldnât fault the service. And an ample continental breakfast was included in the room rate.
I didn't stay!! The first room I was offered as I opened the door the smell of stale cigarettes hit me so I asked for another room. We were shown to another room and after spending 5 minutes in that room, the smell of plug in air freshener was too over powering it caused an asthma attack. The Hotel was nothing like pictured and was probably the worst looking and smelling hotel ever. I ended up staying somewhere else at great expense after refusing and unable to stay here. I will be looking for a full refund.
Felt like I have been catfished by the website. This place has sadly seen much much better days. What a dump this was the door to the room and it didnât get much better. I bought a clean towel to see me through. I unfortunately couldnât change my booking otherwise I would have in a heart beat
Disgusting - not as advertised in the photos in the Hotels.com website
The website for The Jersey Arms Hotel shows it as part of the Cameron Hotel Collection - itâs clearly not but is using the same photos - Iâm not sure if the Cameron Hotel Collection are awareâŠ.
The woodwork around the bedroom windows was rotten, some door windows had been replaced with wood, there was mould in several places in the bathroom, the shower fitments were rusty - there was one wall light and one table lamp to light up the whole room, no wardrobe - no bar, even though thereâs a photo of one on the website -
the only truthful detail about the hotel was that it was a continental breakfast !
Nobody around when we arrived, just keys left on the desk empathising single women staying alone. Room door wouldn't lock, ceiling dangling down over the bed, in desperate need of a thorough clean, bannister barely hanging onto the wall. Totally unsafe & unclean. It was so late at night & nobody to speak to, we decided to leave and find somewhere safe for the night. Owner refused to refund. Avoid at all costs.
Booked for business trip, no one on reception on arrival or departure. No resturant or bar service available have to travel to Bicester for food. Continental breakfast in morning no staff. No heating in room or restaurant and no staff to communicate any issues with. Room was lovely though mattress needs replacing as springs have gone in it. Shower leaked and made horrendous noise. All windows had condensation in morning and blinds didnât work. Have to leave shower window open for steam to clear as no fan. Poor overall wouldnât recommend
Rooms were freezing cold, windows donât shut properly, mould in bathroom, toilet all stained! Disgusting, grounds had bin bags with rubbish in, which have clearly sat there for days! Pizza boxes all over the gardens, breakfast was really poor! No bar to sit in in the evening, yet it shows one on the pictures! Apparently itâs been shut for a long time! Would definitely pay a bit extra and stay somewhere warm and more inviting plus clean.
