The location of the townhouse was truly ski-in/ski-out; we could ski directly from the front door to the base of the Iron Horse lift and make it almost all the way back (after getting up enough speed). The Moonlight Basin area was a quiet well-maintained townhome community with signs on the mountain making it effortless to get back. The interior of the house was super cozy, nicely decorated, and had comfortable furniture. It had the best mudroom/ski cubby/half-bath setup right inside the door of any ski rental we’ve seen bar none. The views were spectacular from both the living area and the private hot tub, which was awesome and saw a lot of use. The kitchen was well-stocked with lots of gadgets and cooking equipment. There were a few things that could use a little TLC (loose plumbing fixtures, beat-up non-stick pans, fireplace controls), but nothing to get too worked up about. The only negative was communication with VACASA, the management company. There was no information sheet provided electronically or in the unit and it was never clear what to do with the trash and recycling. I contacted customer support (call center) via e-mail, chat, and phone and was able to get in touch with someone easily enough, but the response each time was that they would transfer to request to local management, who would contact me (which never happened and there was no way to contact them directly). We ended up collecting trash and recycling in an unused bedroom so we didn’t have to look at it piling up, but I was glad there was nothing that needed urgent maintenance. All in all, a great say and we would definitely stay here again – thinking of booking next year now!
