Only complaint I have is the access directions on the Schnellville Road. Very narrow. I would not drive it. Once we were directed to use Bretzville turnoff, the roads worked better for my husband but not for me - not after dark. The furnishings were very nice. The hosts were very wellcoming.
Turning off the main road and then the crunch of the rocky road under your tires are the signs you are heading sonewhere unique. This place is out and away from city life but just 25 minutes from an amusement park, close to Payola lake and all it has to offer and little cute towns such as Ferdinand and Jasper. We've stayed here twice now, as it is super clean and cozy for our family. Our grandma enjoys all one floor. Our teens love Koda and friends
We had a great time although we only spent the evenings and early mornings at the property. I met Colin (one of the owners). Very friendly and hospitable. We would highly recommend this property. If you are looking to stay here and are friendly and easy going, you will enjoy your stay very much!
Our host was very responsive and the place was stocked with high quality items. Thanks for the cookies and tomatoes...so good. Also, thanks for access to your dog and good TP ( a rarity in rentals). We loved this place and wished we could have stayed longer. Until next time...
We came down to spend a day at Holiday World and wanted a place to sleep before our long drive home the next day. This was a 30 minute drive from the park. It was a nice quiet place with plenty of space for everyone to have a place to crash. We were greeted by the sweet dog Koda, four freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and a sweet welcome note from the owners. The place was clean and the decor was a nice touch for a cabin in the woods feel.
Nothing was good there. We are with kids and my kids were so scared with those 3 dogs in front of our rented door most of the time, they didn't have anything there to play for kids, no back door, no windows in bedrooms, the grill machine was without those woods and dirty. Very unprofessional service who pay them for. Never be there again and don't recommend who wants to go for enjoyment. There is nothing which makes you feel better and relax.
This was the perfect place for my family during our trip to holiday world. It was very quiet and that was exactly what we were looking for. The owners were super nice and gave us great information on the area (food, shopping, etc). Dogs on the property were very friendly and My kids wanted to take them homeâŠlol. Recommend this place if you are in the area.
We typically stay in Ferdinand every year for a family reunion. We weren't able to stay at our normal place this year and found this on a whim. It was absolutely perfect. My mother was with us and I had a recent knee injury. Everything was easy in and out, the layout was also convenient. It is certainly in an area that we call God's Country, but the STARS you see at night are worth it! Amazing. The cozy porch was perfect for star gazing or morning coffee. We had a fawn and a hummingbird join us for our morning cup of joe, not to mention the property's official greeter, Koda. Thank you for the hospitality. We saw the property owner since their home is very close and he was beyond kind and helpful. If I were needing to travel to any of the area towns, Ferdinand, Jasper, Dale, Huntingburg, etc, I would certainly consider staying here again.
Best Stay for Mom Friends and Four Boys â Holiday World Trip 2024!!
We brought our sons and a couple buddies to Holiday World and then wanted to find a cute place to stay that fit us all and gave us spaceâŠthis is all that and more!! We got greeted by Koda, a beautiful husky that is so kind and well mannered (we all loved him). The place has all the amenities listed and is just right; out in the country, enough space to spread out, basketball hoop, fire pit to do sâmores and even a full kitchen to cook! They even had spices there! It has a rustic charm and is very clean! Will definitely be back-highly recommend!
Loved it. Beautiful setting plenty of room to move around the the washer drier we were caught in rain Saturday.
The Horse shoe pits in back are a great time killer and a lot of fun. We spent hours there in the afternoons.
Great place great hosts I highly recommend this location.
Four of us were down to fish a tournament on Patoka Lake. Shannon was great on the lead up communication and Collin got us and our boats situated. Could not have asked for a better location and hosts (including the guard dog)! Will definitely be staying there again next year.
