Drury in Birmingham

This is our 2nd time staying at this property. We one the two room suites, comfy bed and the room smelled so pleasant! The only thing missing was a handicap accessible shower seat and more outlets for electronic devices.

Great facility, but...

The room was great and the neighborhood too. However, i thought the reception and the dinning areas were too close to each other - the food service area was clumsy and sometimes crowded and not very clean. It was a big shift from the Drury we stayed at in Orlando (and others) which had reusable utensils. I'd suggest to reduce the portion of the evening snack (e.g., by reducing the size of the plate) to control crowding and wastage - one of the kitchen personnel refilling the taco meat with about 5 minutes before the closing, only to pour it away a few minutes later plus a bunch of hot dog supplies! I have a feeling that the room keepers have a hard job cleaning food waste and disposables. The hallways need constant attention to keep trash away too.

Small bathroom, good stay.

Check in was good and the staff was friendly. The bathroom was pretty small in the double queen. In order to shower you would have to walk in then close the door to get in. Also there were red, circular cup stains (possibly from a drink) on the top shelf in the bathroom next to the clean towels. Besides that it was clean and the stay was perfect as far as location.
