Property is beautiful. It’s an old B&B built in late 1800s turned motel. Very cool place to stay. Great area of Birmingham. Bed was a little hard, but nice stay.
The historic house is beautiful. The room, with it's high ceiling, large bed, great natural lighting is fantastic. I was worried about parking, but that was no problem at all. And the area is full of good dining options that you can just walk to. I would highly recommend.
This is actually a nice national registry home, however, the furnishings are from "Rooms to Go". Biker bar down the street has some occasional noise as does the largest Chick-Fil-A next door. I did not get the room I thought I had selected. There is no one on the premises. Has a lot of things going for it as well as against it.
Beautiful architectural details throughout the home, including chandeliers in every room. Loved the wall of stained glass as you walk up the stairs. With the sunlight coming through, a spectacular surprise!!
I just expected and wish they had left the antique furniture in the home. It looks like 1950-6o’s furnishings. It was still a wonderful stay and I would come again.
What a gem! This home is absolutely stunning—full of charm, history, and beauty at every turn. Thank you for the unforgettable stay in such a breathtaking and unique place!
The room was on the third floor would have been good to have that information as part of our check in instructions. The towels for the bathroom were very worn and there was no bedside lighting.

This used to be a bed and breakfast. We’ve stayed there many times. Now it’s just a bed with old furniture . We did receive an email about it changing hands and the wouldn’t be breakfast and the period furniture was removed. No credit for no food was offered. We will not be staying there again.
It is a very beautiful old home, in a fairly noisy area.
It's supposed to be a "bed and breakfast" but they have dropped the "breakfast" and so the experience is kind of...odd.
It is a house full of guests, but no interaction at all. It seems strange and one wonders what would happen in an emergency or some like event.
Place was great and near a good part of town. Literally behind a Chic-fil-a. Fun old mansion in good condition.
But…parking was awful. Parking on the street is the best option. Parking area was tiny and difficult to manage.

What use to be pretty and kitschy is now just a pretty old house. The kitsch that included interesting decor and a traditional bed and breakfast is no longer there. No staff is even in the house which is creepy. So do not think I’ll stay again.
Very cute, historic house. The area seemed pretty safe and plenty of walkable food options and late night eats. The room did get a little hot and the beds were a bit hard but overall a good stay.
Very cozy and quiet stay. Right in the center of town. Has a private door code and locks on your private bedroom door. Very safe and comfortable new beds
First off, they changed ownership right before our stay and stopped serving breakfast. In an email, they offered $8 off per day due to this change, but we never received this discount. I even replied to the email after our stay and received no response. Second, I chose this hotel for the historic feel. Unfortunately, the new owners have modernized the furnishings including super firm memory foam beds that hold heat and feel like sleeping on a brick. I will not be staying at this hotel again due to the uncomfortable beds and loss of historic charm.
My overall stay was fine. The house is conveniently located to several restaurants and easy access to city sites.
However my stay started with a little stress and poor contact. I did not receive my access code ahead of time, so I was unable to enter the house. My attempts at calling the owners went straight to voicemail, with no return call. I also was not informed of the change in ownership or breakfast- no longer being offered. I might have considered a change in accomodation.
A kind neighbor gave me access to her Wi-Fi at which time I finally received an email with access code and other helpful info. When I responded to the email I did receive a prompt text response with apologies and a promise to compensate me for my troubles.
The house is charming, with so much character.
I hope they can return to making it a true B&B and offer the full experience. Other guests felt the same.
Exquisite late Victorian home; new mid-modern furnishings are clash in my opinion; wonderful area; glad we got to experience this magnificent architecture; probably won't be back.
This is a stunning Victorian property. We booked because it’s a unique piece of history. I hope the new owners do not try and modernise it as every guest here tonight came here because it’s an authentic Guilded age mansion. I didn’t love the modern furniture. The area is brilliant with many beautiful restaurants around in walking distance. I had a really great time and would recommend to people who like old architecture and history. I also liked the 24 hour coffee bar.
