First, let's talk about the wonderful:I went to Mountain Creek Lodge for the specific purpose of seeking isolation, and I got exactly that and more. The setting in the mountains and meadows is breathtaking. The internet connection was strong. Be warned: I'm not all that tech savvy, but from what I could tell, your TV viewing is Roku dependent, and therefore very limited unless you subscribe to streaming services.I chose to sleep in the second floor bedroom and found it very comfortable once it cooled down. (See below.)The most wonderful surprise was the pair of donkeys (maybe mules) at the edge of the driveway. I named them Robin and Pat because I wasn't sure how they identified, but they're very curious and beyond adorable. Now for the could-be-better. (To be clear, I'd come back in a heartbeat.) In no particular order:1. The Mountain Creek Lodge is clearly designed for the cooler months. I was there in the heat of July. The first floor bedroom that I would have preferred never got cool enough to sleep in. Fans would be nice.2. The burners on the stove are not level and the pans are not flat.3. I caution elderly or handicapped guests to be careful. The stairs here are very steep and the floors are not level.I can't wait to come back to Mountain Creek Lodge when the nights are cold and I can light the firepit.
