Excellent stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Birnie House Cottage and Aileen and Bob really made us feel welcome. They were so helpful and kind, always helping to plan our outings. The cottage was very cosy and we also loved the garden, the squirrels, the walk in the woods with the dogs... Also conveniently located for trips to Edinburgh, Perth, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and lots of castles. Thanks a lot and hope to see you again!

Peaceful Cottage stay

Had a lovely weekend staying at Birnie Cottage. Aileen was great at giving information prior to our arrival and gave us a lovely welcome with scones, butter and jam. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The garden is beautiful and we were lucky enough to be able to sit out 2 evenings enjoying the sun and the garden. The cottage is in a peaceful location and had the benefit of woods behind it that we could walk our dogs. Although the garden is enclosed it isn't fully secure so we were careful with the dogs in the garden but they still enjoyed it. The cottage was a great base for exploring perthshire and Angus so we enjoyed great days out exploring.

1 Woche bei Aileen und Bob

Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefĂŒhlt: herzlicher und großzĂŒgiger Empfang mit Scones, Butter, Marmelade und Shortbread fĂŒr den ersten Tee. Auch das Brenngut fĂŒr ein Ofenfeuer war aufgeschichtet. Das Cottage war sehr sauber, toll eingerichtet und ausgestattet, super ruhig und mit großem Garten drumrum. Als Standort fĂŒr AusflĂŒge in die Umgebung sehr geeignet. Besonders freundlich sind Aileen und Bob. Die Empfehlung, im LittleÂŽs essen zu gehen war klasse: eine tolle Erfahrung!! Wir danken Euch von Herzen fĂŒr die schöne Zeit in Birnie Cottage. You wont be watching TV

What an amazing cottage. Dont know where to begin. The cottage is lovely and cosy. There was an amazing welcome pack upon arrival with the most delicious scones & shortbread amongst other things. As the title suggests theres better things to see than watch TV. Within an hour of arrival we were visited by a red squirrel who along with 2 others kept us entertained for the week. The cottage is a great base to explore the local area with something for everyone - great walks, photography, fly or coarse fishing, golf or just general sightseeing. Glamis Castle is only 15 minute's away & Dundee 30 mins. Lovely friendly hosts who were on hand if needed. We will be back 😊

Great cottage, lovely surroundings

The cottage is spacious and well equipped and the hosts are really friendly and helpful. There's a village nearby and Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus are a short drive away. The garden backs onto woods, which are great for walking in and are home to plenty of deer! The bird feeder outside the kitchen window attracted red squirrels and many different birds, including a woodpecker most days and the real fire made the lounge really cosy. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return next time we visit the area.

Birnie Cottage

Had a lovely stay at Birnie Cottage, Aileen was a very welcoming host. The extra treats were a lovely touch especially the scones with butter and jam waiting on arrival. Was lovely watching the wildlife around the cottage, red squirrel and woodpeckers outside the kitchen window. Altogether a very pleasant place to stay.

Lovely Cottage - Ideal Location

Lovely cottage with everything you could need. Aileen and Bob were brilliant and happy to assist with local information. Lovely treats on arrival with fresh scones and cheese. Brilliant walks from the back gate thoroughly enjoyed by my 2 cocker spaniels with access to footpath galore. Will return again when next in the area.

Happy visit

A tidy little house, neat and clean with everything you can need, and welcoming owners nearby. Lovely scones and jam on arrival. Near to Kirriemuir and local places. Red squirrel and bird feeder outside kitchen window are great to watch and nice garden to sit in.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Birnie Cottage rundum sehr genossen: das Haus hat eine angenehme, ruhige AtmosphĂ€re, ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und hat einen idyllischen Garten. Vom KĂŒchenfenster aus kann man sich an dem munteren Treiben von Singvögeln, verschiedenen Spechten und Eichhörnchen erfreuen. Aileen und Bob sind außergewöhnlich herzliche Gastgeber! We had a really lovely few days staying at Gardeners cottage. Excellent location for doing nice dog walks and visiting the local villages. Went to a few lovely places for good food and coffee and visited the amazing farm shops with the best tasting strawberries!

Just what we wanted

The property was excellent and served the purpose well for what we wanted to do. Comfortable for 2 adults 1 teenager and 2 dogs. Wildlife around the property was a amazing and the owners we very friendly and faves us some of there time. Will definitely be returning..

Short family break

Very comfortable and clean old gardeners cottage. We received a warm welcome from the owners who were very helpful. Our dogs enjoyed the woods and walks at the rear of the cottage. It’s situated in a lovely area and easy to reach the coast and other areas with lots to do and see. The cottage itself was very clean and had everything we needed and lovely treats for us and the dogs left for our arrival. Lots of wildlife to be seen from the kitchen window and surrounding area. We especially loved watching the red squirrels and woodpecker on the feeders. We will definitely return in the future.

Birnie Cottage

Birnie cottage is in a great location. Close enough to civilisation but peacefull at the property. The cottage is immaculate with a great private enclosed garden. The owners Bob and Aileen are fantastic hosts, welcoming and friendly. We will stay here again.

Brilliant!

Character property in quiet location hosted by lovely kind people. Lots to do in the area and beautiful walks in the woods. Just be aware that if you're a fan of takeaways, the ones in nearby Alyth don't always open when they say. But then you don't come to an area like this to eat Dominos! There are plenty of shops around to stock up on essentials so no issues. Would recommend 100%.

Lovely break

Lovely wee cottage for a family break. Friendly owners and very generous welcome pack was appreciated. Our young girls and dog loved the back garden and playhouse. Red squirrels and deer in the woods around the house. There are lovely woodland walks right behind the house and great central location for family days out. A place we will come back to for future Angus breaks.

Cottage was warm and clean and comfortable. Host was lovely and helpful. Very peaceful surroundings in quiet countryside, lots of wildlife and birds to see. Also lots of things to do in nearby places. Lovely walks in woods immediately beside cottage, great for dogs if you have them.
