My family absolutely loved staying here, we had 11 people ranging for 5 to 77 there was plenty of rooms and bathrooms. The access to the lake by the property was all of our favorites, absolutely beautiful! We did have a few issues with the house that the owner had fixed very quickly! The kayak and the paddle board were so much fun, our dog Shirley absolutely loved being on the paddle board! Awesome place great location and everyone around was extremely friendly!
The house, amenities, host, and area were all fantastic. I will point out the few negatives, minor to be sure. The kitchen faucet is not secured - a simple fix apparently long overdue. We went to play ping pong and found only one usable paddle. I drove an hour round trip to the East Stoudsberg Walmart to purchase a set of 4 paddles and balls, and left them there for next guests. The basketball game frame is broken and has been duct-taped numerous times, but it does function well. The game room itself was good although a bit dirty. The front screen door catches very annoyingly on the frame. The grill could use a good take apart and thorough cleaning, or better, replacement. Now, those things aside, the house is spacious, all beds were comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked with everything needed for cooking just about anything, with plenty of dishes, glasswear and utensils. The lake is small but surprisingly pleasant, with abundant fish. The beach is pristine and a very short walk, as is the kayak and paddleboard storage. The community is very well kept and very nice. The Blakeslee area is great, with lots of hiking, and all outdoor activities imaginable. Stow, the host, was very friendly, helpful and responsive. A little attention to the minor maintainence would raise the rating to nearly a 10.0!All in all, my family group - 8 of us from 12 to 72, had a great time and would definitely return next year!
Our family (ages 8-68) had a nice weekend. The weather was a very springish mix but we had things to do inside (fun playroom!) and outside (peaceful lake right outside the door). The nearby Austin T Blakesee Area had a nice trail going along the river (but we didn't see the whole park) with a stop at Sweet Cravings on the way home, yum.Comfortable lodging that is kid-friendly.
We loved our stay at the property. One bummer was that the heater didn't work in the garage so we weren't able to use the fun ping pong table and games for the kids as it was freezing. Great house for a big family otherwise.
This was our first time to brier crest woods and I must say the community was clean and felt very safe with security always on patrol. We enjoyed all the activities the house had to offer. The dart board was our favorite but everything else was a close second. We were bummed that all three of the propane tanks were empty and left by the previous guest, so it was an inconvenience to get one filled. We had a great weekend and would be interested in renting this house again in the future.
This property was awesome. The layout, location and amenities were all perfect for our stay. The house was quiet and secluded, and offered plenty of room for our party.
We rented this home for Presidents Day weekend. It was one of the best homes in the Poconos. The home was spacious, clean and had plenty to do during our 4 snow squalls. The owner was very nice and communicated to any questions promptly. We had no problems and had an awesome time! Definitely will rent again. Thanks Stow!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was as pictured. The neighborhood was beautiful and peaceful. Our grandson had so much fun at the beach and the playground. The owner, Stow, quickly answered any questions we had and offered some great ideas for places to eat. We would definitely consider staying here again.
We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and well maintained. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax. The game room provided a lot of fun for our family.
This is a spacious house on a small, peaceful lake. My husband and I had a great time with our 2 adult sons and their cousin. It is laid out in such a way that the "boys" had the downstairs and we were upstairs in the main part of the house. Close to activities, hiking, restaurants, etc. And the area to sit by the lake is perfect to take a book and read or have your morning coffee. Just remember to bring your own towels. They are not provided.
