Perfect vacation. My parents stayed with us. We fished during the day, and ate our catches at night. The house is clean and the beds are comfy. The direct river access is amazing. I actually went fishing with a fresh cup of coffee in hand. Thank you, Jamie!
Overall Awesome. The house was in a great location about 5-7 minutes to Texas Hole 10 minutes from Navajo Dam. Comfy beds, really nice house, right next to San Juan River you can hear the river from the bedroom, and we saw turkeys, deer and in the evening played board games. Thx for a great weekend.
We enjoyed our stay and it was just what we were looking for. You can hear the river from the sitting area and the views are great. We will stay again when we come back to the area.
Great location. There were a few issues with the shower not draining properly the first night, but it cleared up. There wasnât a hair dryer even though it was listed. Jamie said that someone took it a couple of days before. A hot tub was listed, but we didnât see it. The house was clean, the location was great. All in all a good place to rent for fishing trips to the San Juan river. The bedrooms are all upstairs, so not good for folks with medical issues.
Really nice place on the San Juan River, big home very well stocked with everything you need for your stay.. Fly fishing anytime you want or just relaxing on the property was pretty nice..Jamie the host and his family were very welcoming .if we ever come back to this area we would love to stay here.
Host was easy to communicate with and friendly, he offered some fishing tips. Home is very well stocked with everything you need we did do alot of home cooking and had everything we needed.
Our only issue was the Fan in master bedroom was broken.
The area is beautiful the kids loved seeing the deer n turkeys. We will definitely be back just not the same time of year, alot of cotton from the cotton woods in the river so it was a bit difficult to fish the san Juan river. (Probably because of the rain storm they had. )
Close to the wines of the San Juan and not far from navajo lake which is also beautiful
This was a wonderful stay. The house was on a great stretch of the San Juan and my husband and kids fly fished successfully for rainbow and brown trout on the private stretch of river right behind the house. We saw deer and turkeys right in the yard. The house had plenty of space and was clean and comfortably appointed. Good communication with the host. The house was perfect for us.
Now that Abeâs remains closed, it is difficult to find a convenient to fishing and affordable place to stay near the quality waters. This location fills the bill. It is spacious and well set up. The kitchen is fully functional and well provisioned. This is important since you will almost certainly need to cook since the only restaurant nearby, the Sportsman, is opened Wednesday-Sunday and Aztec is a long drive.
Jamie, the manager of the property is readily reachable and very helpful. He called the day before arrival to go over access and procedures.
Would stay here again.
This is a great base for fishing the San Juan below Navajo Dam. There is a great run on the property itself, with healthy brown trout and a few rainbows. You are minutes away from the world-famous tailwater of the Navajo Dam. Jamie is super helpful in communicating current fishing conditions, fly patterns, etc. Plenty of kitchen utensils. Everything in the kitchen worked well.
The location is great for fishing as the San Juan River is literally in the backyard. Navajo Lake is approximately 10 minutes away. Lots of wildlife around the property! The house is nice and spacious. The only reason I rated it a 4 is because it seems the water tank needs to be replaced. Using the water was not ideal as it has a terrible rust smell. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
A great stay at a great house. We used this as a corporate getaway option, as opposed to several hotel rooms, and it proved to be a great way to enjoy the San Juan and team build at the same time. The river was a bit high during our stay, but we had a blast, slept well and enjoyed each other's company. All around a very clean and functional house for our needs. Host was extremely helpful & responsive. No compaints and will be staying there again!
The property was awesome. The place was clean. Very close to the river which was so nice. Its great for a group of guys wanting to fish and hang out. We lost power for about 3 hours the second night. It triggered the well/water power to shut down. Although we were without water for the night, Jamie the host was there bright and early so we had water in the morning when we woke. Overall this was a very cool place to be.
This property is right on the San Juan River and 13 miles from Navajo Dam. We were there to fish the quality waters of the San Juan river and explore the many incredible ancient Pueblo sites and archeological wonders. Jamie, our host, was very communicative and got right back to us when we needed him. Like when we left our house keys in the house and the door was locked! He came without complaint and good humor.
The house is big with lots of room to spread out. The house is well supplied with dishes and pots and pans. There is filtered water available for drinking because the well water is sulfury, but it didn't bother us.
Our two dogs loved being there. At night the turkeys across the river were talking and it was a fun to hear them and get them talking back to us.
The fishing for trophy trout and browns on this famous river was fun, hard, but rewarding. The river was not in top shape the time of year we were there (April 1-12) but the reports from other times makes this a river of epic fishing. We will come back sometime when fishing conditions are better, but we found plenty of things to do anyway.
Wonderful place, clean, great access to fishing (walking wading and put ins) and awesome, accommodating host to answer answer any questions in the area.
