We had a great time at Kristiâs beautiful mountain cabin. The views, the spacious guest accommodations, the peace and quiet of a private community was great.
The screened porches were awesome.
There are TVs in every room with an awesome game room downstairs. Washer and Dryer with easy accessibility. Great kitchen fully equipped. Some of the pans were old and the no stick coating was peeling into our food. We just bought a pan from Walmart. We were able to cook daily in the fully equipped kitchen and save a bunch on eating out. Shopped at Food Lion but should have gone to Walmart for groceries. Food Lion was WAY TOO expensive! Next time we will know.
Loved the adorable decor, tons of forest and mountain views through the many beautiful windows and doors. There are fireplaces everywhere.
With two King bedrooms, the awesome loft, the two Futons, and Bunk bedsâŠlots of sleeping space for way more than the four of us. Felt like a 5 bedroomThere is a huge picture window right in the master shower stall with no shade.
A little weird so I did not use that shower bc the cabin next door was occupied and there were people there that could just see in. The window is up high and maybe there is no visibility but at night it was unnerving to take a shower there. Maybe a half decal on the window may help for privacy. Also, the sink in the master was unusable, clogged. Even so⊠Location was amazing with mountain views all around. Mercers Orchard, downtown Blue Ridge, waterfalls and hiking just minutes away.
The road leading to the mountain top retreat was a bit scary for a city gal! Haha. Itâs a climb to get up the mountain. There are deep gorges below and there is a tiny road that hugs the mountain thatâs two ways that you have to take to the house. There is no room for two way traffic so one must back up on what seems like a ledge to a spot in the shoulder and pull in, to allow the oncoming traffic to pass. It was was too stressful for me. You do get used to it though. So glad we arrived in the daytime. Very very out of the beaten path location which adds to the beauty of the experience. Thankfully the road was just a mile but I held my breath each time we had to venture out.
Thereâs a fire pit and a hot tub but we opted to enjoy the fireplace on the outdoor living room deck. Super cool place to build a fire, watch TV, toast some smores and just watch the GORGEOUS sunsets!
We loved the place. Thanks Kristi for letting us stay. :)
