The Charlesmark wasa "find". Great location 3 blocks from the Amtrak Back Bay station: within a block or two of Metro stations; next to a very good sushi cafe: and attached to a really good Middle Eastern restaurant. And the staff was exceptional.

Room was small but very well laid out, clean and comfortable. Free continental breakfast was nice, as was the restaurant on the lobby level. Checking in and out, if you have a car and substantial luggage, is time consuming and difficult, since traffic is very congested on the street, street parking (even double parking) is non-existent, and there is only one small coned-off parking spot for check-ins and check-outs in front of the hotel. The $35 per 24-hour period discounted parking provided is at a parking garage several blocks away, and there are no in-and-out privileges, so if you need to use your car during your stay, costs can be much higher. The hotel itself is very nice, and staff was friendly and helpful. However due to the congested nature of this part of the city, there are many inconveniences for travelers with cars.

You’re really just paying for the location don’t expect much beyond that. The breakfast is very basic, consisting of only coffee and a single pastry. The room wasn’t very clean, and overall the hotel offers only the most basic facilities without any extras. If location is your top priority, it might work for you, but otherwise, it’s just a very standard hotel with minimal amenities.

The hotel was ok, I found some staff to be unhelpful, some were really nice but some seemed completely disinterested in their job despite being in customer facing roles. The room itself was ok, the carpets really need replacing, the bed is comfy but its noisy and you can hear a pin drop. I was woken at 4am with water coming in from the ceiling so that wasn't ideal and I had a broken toilet flush that also kept me awake.

The stay was pretty average. I think the redeeming factor in why the price is so expensive is the location but that’s all. The room was not that big and “breakfast included” means a croissant the size of my hand and a small coffee. Pretty disappointing as I specifically booked this hotel thinking I would save money since I was provided breakfast but in the end I still had to eat out since I’m celiac and there was no alternative to the croissant

This boutique hotel in the heartnof the nicest area of downtown Boston was the most unexpectedly pleasant travel find! Its easy to rave about its warm ambiance, attentive and joyful Front Desk staff, fantastic room! with a beautiful red brick wall, functional and architecturally interestingnwall unit & shelves, perfectly appointed bath (with the SMARTEST space saving decor I've seen) and - wait for it - spa shower with floor to ceiling tile and hot, hot steamy water. This hotel room was so spot-on, I was sad to be there only 1 night. The hallways could use a bit of love, but do not let that deter you. This spectacular find is soooo worth booking! The location is perfect! Sandwiched between Newbury Street and Copley Plaza - I enjoyed both immensely but could not wait to get back to my little jewel. Thank you, Charlesmark. I will be back!

Excellent location. Caught by a blizzard and had to stay longer. Staff were friendly and accommodating and sorted out our longer stay efficiently. Fabulous location for shopping, historic sites, restaurants, convenience store, coffee shops. Hotel offers complimentary continental breakfast, coffee that is better than Starbucks, plus a mini croissant. Staff is friendly and helpful. When I left behind my book and gloves as I was headed to the airport on the metro, a receptionist ran down the street to give them to me, all the while it was drizzling an icy rain. I as so startled I forgot to give her a tip before she ran back. She deserves a bonus!
