Avoid! this is not a 4 star hotel and therefore waaaay to expensive for what is offered! The staff is extremely rude, even though they had rooms available they would not give it to us before 3pm sharp; the rooms were small, there are no amenities except for a tiny gym with one thread mill, and the one window on the room was dirty outside. Location is great but for sure not wrth the money.

Small clean room (overlooking an air shaft) with very loud mechanicals. Fantastic Back Bay location. Would have liked to try hotel bar which looked charming but it was closed for private events for the entire weekend I was there. Elevator seems to be on its last legs - needs servicing. Staff nonchalant. Appreciate an historic hotel but not sure this one was worth the $.

My only problem with the hotel was the elevator was way too slow most people used the stairs. The valet service was very slow 20 minutes to retrieve the car. It’s a very old classic building and kept up as much as possible. As far as returning to it, no way I’ll stay next door.

Lovely spacious room. The hotel is within walking distance of grocery, restaurants, sightseeing & transportation. Front desk staff very helpful. We were able to check in early.

The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Ben helped us find our way to the airport shuttle. I then watched a guest try to harangue him into a comped night because (she said) her room smelled smoky. He was so kind and professional. My guess is she wrote a negative review but Ben was professional, kind, and appropriate so I wanted that to be known for him. The hotel was walkable to everything. The location was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was top notch.

The location is perfect for getting all around Boston and walkable to great restaurants and shops as well as the T line. The bed was very comfortable and the front desk staff was helpful. The elevator was very slow and one was broken the whole time but other than that we would stay there again.
