Be prepared: Destination Fee added

This theatre district Boston Hyatt is ideally located: walking distance to Chinatown, the Freedom Trail, Beacon Hill, the Commons, Boylston and Newbury Streets, etc. The hotel is comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The Hyatt--all customers should know--charges you extra for the pleasure of being their guest. After we checked out, my card was charged $35.00 for a "Destination Fee." I called to see what the charge was for, since I was told that the card would only be charged for incidentals, as is typical of any hotel stay. The man to whom I spoke told me (in full seriousness) that the charge was for the "free wi-fi upgrade and the free clam chowder." I responded that neither was "free" if they are charging customers for the alleged complimentary perks. Another company that manipulates its customers to expand its profit margin. Otherwise, great hotel!

The bed was comfortable. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash mounted to the wall so they were very convenient to use. (No fumbling with tiny plastic bottles.) The subway stop is also very close. There are a lot of restaurants nearby. All of the staff that I met were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Location: worth it

Hotel is a little outdated but the location is excellent. The restaurant is good but extremely overpriced, particularly the breakfast. It was $35 per person, even kids, and it was nothing special. Staff was great.

The pool was not available which was not good. Sounds like it has been closed since COVID. The place needs to be remodeled. Got my final bill and I have a Destination fee of 30.00 each day even though the reservation was paid in full a month and a half ago. We were told we would receive a 10.00 credit if we charged our meal to our room at the restaurant in the hotel. There was not a credit applied to my final bill.
