The outside of the hotel was rough. It is a historic site , so understand somewhat. The inside was much nicer. There have been great efforts to update and see that it is clean. The gentleman at front desk was very helpful, felt he was checking people on, finding fans, changing linens for another family. He was calm about it. He responded to our need for another fan, it was extremely hot while we were there. He shared about meals available next door, pool, etc. I enjoyed seeing old photos of when this place was open in the 1930's.

The receptionist was amazing, he helped us with our issue and was very polite. Unfortunately the room wasn't clean. Not only did we find apple stalks on the sofa bed, there was what looks like food smeared on the wall by the headboard, dust EVERYWHERE, toys under the bed aswell as metal clips. The lamp was broken and left in the room (light bulb was hanging off and so was the shade) wall paper pealing in places and the plug hole had hair already in it before we came in. We won't be returning
