Perfect location large hotel on seafront. The hotel is historical and old but rooms are comfortable and clean and has all the facilities needed…..bar, restaurant, guests lounge etc. Bathrooms are modern and nicely presented. It’s not 5 star but then again neither are the room rates. Good value, comfortable and a lovely place to stay to enjoy everything Brighton has to offer.

Avoid

The Hotel is in a right state, it’s not tired it’s beyond that! It’s dilapidated, dirty and worn out. The staff are lovely albeit working with a product in such dire need of money spent on it must humiliating for them, we checked out after 1 night into a two night stay. I’m trying hard to find a positive for you but there really aren’t. The pictures looked ok but the reality is quite an eye opener. The pictures are of our room, we slept on top of the bed. dinner was an experience I’ve never been accosted in a restaurant before by a drunk guest, I assume drunk it could have been anything. There was also a woman trapped in the doorway in her wheelchair as the family pushing her had words! You had to be there! The warm prawn cocktail was an indication of what was to come. The hotel attracts a certain type. And I’m not being snobby.

Ok stay at the Old Ship. No parking available and wasn't able to check into room at 2pm on arrival so didnt get it until returned at 6pm. No early check in for platimum guests. Room was average and dated, probably Worth paying for a deluxe room if return. Love the location of the hotel but it dies need a bit of renovation soon.

We found the hotel, very clean and tidy, the staff were excellent, the food and service was excellent. The rooms were spacious, clean and well presented. I would say the only down side was we felt it needed a lick of paint to give it a freshen up. But that certainly would not put us off returning.

A hotel well last it's sell by date. Overdue a refurb and very tired. Paint crumbling off the room walls, black mold in the built in wardrobe. Just disgusting. That said, the staff couldn't be better and when I asked to check out and leave early they handled it well and offered a refund.

Good location . This hotel is of age. Breakfast was average and we needed to ask for cooked food to be refilled . There was no choice of eggs or mushrooms . The toast machine took ages to brown. The parking is convenient under the hotel and of a good price .

This is an older building which both adds to its charm but also results in limitations. Could not turn off the radiator, but on the positive side, could actually open the window. Large ground floor spaces and sa superb breakfast.
