An easy property to stay in. So close to the coast and dining areas. Also walkable distance to shops. The stairs were a bit of a problem for us to get the suitcases up to our apartment. We are in our 70s. Room was very nice. Plenty of space. Bed a bit small and hard. Bathroom was fabulous. Great kitchenette. Some noisy road traffic if window open. Overall a great stay though.

This is an excellent option for a shorter stay in Cairns. It is central, very reasonably priced, clean and has a well stocked mini kitchen. The communication was great from booking to check out.

I was visiting Cairns by myself so I liked the fact that there were only 5 units and they were in a secure building. Unfortunately the bed was not comfortable, a simple bed topper might help ? Also the housekeeping was only average. I loved the location, it was quiet and could walk to the beach, the shops, and the bus stop.

I flew into Cairns a few days early before joining a tour group. While Escape On Lake is small compared to the more notable accommodation, it is good value. Checkin was easy, and despite missed messages by both myself and the hotel, they had the room ready by lunchtime. Very welcoming after an early morning flight! The room was spacious with good facilities including a microwave for basic cooking needs. The main city centre of Cairns is one block down the street, so quite easy to walk around exploring then back to the hotel. All in all, good value

I come to Cairns often. Rooms are neat and tidy and spacious. Lake Street has some unsavoury folk and was awoken to some yelling matches in the middle of the night but can’t blame the accommodation for that.

Not right for us.

Not so good for seniors as no lift. Stairs steep and raisers short plus one huge step at the bottom. Night light only comes on when you reach the top. Beds not ever made up by housekeeping. Only one chair at the table when booked for 2. Air con turned off by owners repeatedly so hot and stuffy upon return. Location excellent though.large room, hot shower. Beds good too

Overall the property was well placed and in good condition. I sould suggest the following to improve tbe stay: 1) need to supply 2 x face washers. The room only came with 1 face washer! 2) need to supply 3 bath towels , not just 2 for people with long hair requiring a hair towel. 3) need to have additional hanging rails in the bathroom. Currently there is no where to hang we beach towels , swimmers etc.

Cute accommodations

Very spacious, convenient location, felt safe. This was my very first solo trip out of the country and I loved Cairns. Even though there was no elevator, it was only a 2- story building. My room faced the street but it was fairly quiet(except for the occasional homeless person yelling out in the street). The apartment had everything I needed and the Woolworth was close by. Even though there's no reception desk, I was able to get ahold of staff when I accidentally left my key in the room.
