Avoid this hotel at all costs !! It is very run down and poorly maintained. When we finally got our room as soon as you opened the door it stunk of mildew and the door to the room had obviously been kicked in a few times as the safety chain and door jam where all broken and even when you locked the door it moved in and out a lot. Went to have a shower and the tub wouldn’t drain and the tub was very dirty. Ended up just driving back home instead of staying with no refund and to top it off it was $300/night because of the Calgary stampede.

I do not recommend. Went in for breakfast at 7.30am and the milk jug was empty. There was no milk for me to have cereal. I was there for 20 minutes and kitchen staff did not bother replacing the milk. Boiled eggs, yoghurt etc were not available even though I went in at 7.30am, many food items were finished at 7.30am and they didn't bother to replace them. Cheap and grubby hotel. I will not be back.

Average stay - staff at reception could be a little more welcoming/nicer and the breakfast is very basic only 10 seats provided so have to wait to sit and eat breakfast. Room was big - daily house keeping was handy

Pros: The property is a 10 minute walk to the Chinook mall and other shopping. The hotel is surrounded by a good choice of restaurants. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and updated. My room was on the main level with a door to the parking lot. Cons: no fault of the hotel but during the short walk to the mall, there were homeless people doing drugs on the sidewalk.

The front desk refused to give my husband a key and lied to him telling him that I told them to lock him out. Which happened to turn into a huge fight and ruined our trip. Also the bathroom was dirty and the tub was disgusting.

Property is dated and falling apart. Room keys did not work - had to go back to the front desk 4 times to get new keys. Tub plumbing was not sealed properly so all the water draining went under the tub and made a huge slipping hazard as the bottom was no longer level. If you looked at the doors you could see the outside - would not want to stay here in the winter for the draft that would come through. Breakfast was minimal. Pool access is through the basement and pool towels are only available at the front desk - this was not communicated upon check-in so it resulted in many trips trying to find everything the first time-round. Air conditioning worked well. Walking distance to a mall and restaurants. 15 - 20 minutes to drive anywhere in Calgary. Would choose to stay here unless it was the only one available. There's a reason why it's one of the cheapest hotels in the city.

Not the greatest……

The hotel is outdated and can use some pretty-ing up. Rooms were fine but shortage of power sockets. The breakfast area needs attention. I was grateful for what was offered but always had to go ask at front desk to provide more coffee, need more syrup for waffles, need more batter for waffles… etc.. there were 5 tables that could seat 4 each (20 people) but only 12 chairs. Saw many people standing to eat or taking it to their room. No one monitored it and saw people having to clear and wipe their own tables….. do better please!
