Gut: Sauberkeit, Ausstattung und Zustand der Unterkunft
I was nervous to stay at this resort after seeing so many negative reviews but we had an awesome time. Our honest feedback of the resort:
The resort is brand new and at the time of our stay, had only been open for 2 weeks. We had an oceanfront king room and the view was amazing. Our balcony was very spacious. The view from the swim up bar pool was to die for. The staff were friendly and our room was kept cleaned and stocked the entire week.
I will say, you have to keep in mind you are staying at a RIU, which is not the same level as a Sandals or Dreams resort. There was minimal entertainment in the evening (trivia and music) so if you enjoy show, you will be disappointed. We didn’t mind because we found other things to do. There are several restaurants however they are all “first come, first serve” and not reservations. Again, we didn’t mind this because if the wait was too long, we just went to the buffet which usually had the same food as the restaurant.
The most negative experience we had was at the Sports Bar. This is the only bar and food option after 10pm and it is not good. We waited 30 minutes for a drink, and over an hour for a burger and fries.
Overall, I would recommend this resort if you want endless food, a great view, and a new resort. We kept the mindset that we were in Cancun and that the resort was brand new. We try not to focus on the minor things.
