In the village is a great little restaraunt serving authentic Tuscan food and wine.
Visit local villages, such as, Monte Carlo, San Gennaro and Collodi - home of Pinocchio - where you can enjoy wine tasting or relaxing with gentle stroll. It is possible to explore the beautiful valleys and mountains of the Garfagnana set amidst the Apuan and Apennine mountain range with its many designated trails and walks. If you prefer a more lively experience, the historical and cultural centres of Lucca, Florence and Pisa are nearby. Lucca with its medieval walls is less than 30mins drive. Home to Puccini, the city hosts many events, including opera, the summer music festival and the world comic fair. Florence and Pisa have world renowned historical and cultural attractions that are within an hours drive, or leave the car at the local train station and explore by foot. If you want to spend a day by the sea, the resorts of Viareggio and Forte di Marmi are less than an hour away, the Cinque Terre and Portofino are just a bit further up the coast. Depending on the length of your stay, it is possible to enjoy exploring all the nearby attractions as well as taking some time to relax at Casa Canarino.
