Magical setting in the hills, 12 km from Lucca. Spacious & bright 3 BR apartment features 173 mq. on second floor with many windows and a bird's-eye view in each direction. The rural landscape is characterized by winding roads, mountain streams, and lush greenery. Ideal location for day trips within Tuscany and to experience life in a quaint, village setting.

Entire second floor of an 18th-century country villa, set in a small residential enclave with park-like setting. Private entrance on the ground floor leads to an interior stairwell. The apartment features 3 Bedrooms, large Living Room, separate Dining room, fully-equipped Kitchen, west-facing Balcony, and 2 full baths, one is ensuite. 173 mq. (1850 sq.ft). Windows on all sides provide wonderful light throughout the day as well as a view of the pine trees, olive groves, and surrounding hamlet. At least one window screen per room. It is furnished simply and renovated with modern baths and new utilities, while also maintaining the classic Tuscan style of cotto tile flooring, chestnut-beam ceilings, and stone stairwell. Note--the Stairwell is not suitable for small children.

Access to the property is from a gated, stone bridge shared with the west neighbor (cover photo). A tree-lined drive leads up to the villa where there is parking for two vehicles, private outdoor seating, and foyer entrance. The villages of Pieve and Sant' Andrea di Compito are nestled in the hills of the Lucca countryside; immersed in the greenery of pine and olive trees, cypress, bay rosemary, oleander and hydrangea. The air is perfumed with jasmine in Spring, and fresh-pressed olives in Fall. The rural neighborhood consists of centuries-old stone homes, villas, barns and walkable stone-wall streets that invite an invigorating hike up the hill or a leisurely walk to the corner market. There, you'll find local residents stopping for fresh bread and necessities before the noon meal. The nearby social center is a gathering spot for an after-dinner stroll, playground and tennis court in the summer months. The area is known for is mountain water streams and several public fountains dot the landscape. It is also known for its production of olive oil and local residents can press their olives at one of two co-ops just up the street; also available for purchase. The rhythm of daily life is peaceful and follows centuries-old traditions; the setting is magical and quintessential Lucca.

*A car is required and a GPS is also recommended--but within walking distance of the villa you will find a Restaurant w/Bar and a small market for fresh bread and staples. Other restaurants are within short drive of the villa and offer excellent local specialties

Authentisches Toskana-Flair

Wer keine 08/15-Ferienwohnung sucht, ist hier genau richtig. In der Villa steht einem ein komplettes Stockwerk mit sehr viel Platz und toller Ausstattung zur Verfügung. Die Wohnung ist liebevoll restauriert und fühlt sich sehr authentisch an, ohne dass man auf moderne Annehmlichkeiten verzichten müsste. Die Lage ist super: der Ort selbst ist ruhig und abgeschieden, der nächste Supermarkt weniger als 10 Minuten entfernt, ins Zentrum nach Lucca ist man etwa 20 Minuten unterwegs. Das wunderschöne Städtchen bietet tolle Sehenswürdigkeiten, super Essen und auch zum Shopping lohnt es sich. Und auch sonst gibt es viel, was sich von hier aus bequem besuchen lässt. Sowohl der Kontakt zur Besitzerin als auch die Betreuung vor Ort war sehr gut. Uns hat unser Urlaub hier sehr gut gefallen!
