Amazing Home

We came down to see some Spring Ball (Red Sox fans) and wanted a place for everyone to spread out. We rented the Villa Hip Nautic and it was amazing. The home was spacious and well equipped and the back yard pool and dining area was a small slice of heaven. I will definitely be back.

Mixed Feelings About This Property

We stayed at this property for 2 months. At first our communication with the property company was difficult. They changed who we were supposed to communicate with but didn't notify us. It smoothed out after the first few days. The place was superficially cleaned prior to our arrival. Mold in the master shower door track, dust and tennis balls under the couch, etc. made me feel cleaning was for looks not actual good cleaning. The place looks great online but when you start to live there it's a bit different. Handles on door and appliances were loose, no lamps in living area, no waste baskets except in kitchen and whacko one in bathrooms. Shower door was broken and repair person said it needed a part and he would be back with it -- never came back. Getting the owners to cooperate was also a mixed bag. They took the garage door opener when they left right before our stay. They would not replace it so we purchased one at a significant cost. They did buy lounge chairs when we asked about them. The washer never worked properly and it was never repaired properly. It is located in the garage with no place to hang or fold clothes. Always felt garage dirt was in play when washing clothes. Had knick-knacks on every available surface. With these items spread around, the pictures to show the place look great but once again to live there it was clutter. The pool was very dirty with dog hair (owners own two large dogs and were using the place prior to our arrival). Pool guy said the filter was clogged with dog hair when he came to clean it the first time. Yard man mowed the grass/weeds but only picked up lawn debris once. Large limbs from the palms would drop and shed other parts too. Weeds in white gravel were never taken care of. So overall, I think the owners need to be a little more understanding of what is reasonable expectations from renters and they should be aware that the property managing company, the lawn care and the cleaner are not doing a spectacular jobs.

Not what expected

The property is in a great location and neighborhood. The property manager was also excellent with her welcome and getting the kitchen faucet fixed s soon as possible. Although we tried to make the best out of it, there were things that were not up to standards: - The pool walls were stained and dirty - Although they have a pest control certificate, there were cockroaches found throughout the house. I have pictures for review. - The AC was not working properly and the temperature was at 80 during the day and 76 during the night. Basically, the house starting refreshing at 3:00 AM. The AC worked so poorly that it would not reach the kitchen area which made it unbearable to cook. The third bedroom we could not even use since the AC didn't even reach that room. All this is a shame because the property is beatiful at a great location.

Clean Adult Playhouse w/ Excellent View

Nice property for adults, very clean home, nice amenities, a great view, awesome pool area for entertaining, and a place to park our rental boat for the week. If you have children, be VERY careful. There are dozens of delicate decorations throughout the house, all within reach of small children. Low drawers in parts of the home, are filled with chokable/breakable items. The pool is also easily accessible to toddlers who gets out the backdoor, which is very difficult to lock because it doesn't fully close enough to lock, without applying some pressure. And if it's not locked, it can be slid open by a 1 year old (our 1 yr old slid the door open, and walked out to the pool, while we thought we had locked it) You must bring your own pack n play / crib also. The listing was very clear, and we knew for the most part, exactly what we were walking into, this is just alerting potential renters of things you may not think of. Also, this may have also been spelled out in the listing, but I missed it . . . there was no propane, tank was 100% empty. We had family coming over for a bbq, only to find out we had no propane. Make sure you bring your own, or confirm with rental, it was filled. Pool water appears to be very clean, and is the perfect temperature, but the pool concrete lining (interior) needs an extensive cleaning. Bottom/Sides of the pool are dark! But that didn't stop us from swimming 24/7. One aspect of the home we found to be an inconvenience is the lack of a powder room. You have to go into a bedroom, to use either bathroom. This is an inconvenience when you have children sleeping in the 2 rooms, and you must enter the rooms, wake the children, to use the bathroom. We read about this in other reviews, didn't think it was a big deal . . . but it was definitely an inconvenience. A closet was put in place of the original hallway bathroom door. Other than these small issues mentioned, the property is quite nice, and contains everything you need (minus propane, a bathroom door, & pack n play). I would recommend this property for adults, or for a family who is VERY watchful of their small children, is willing to do extensive child-proofing upon arrival, and don't need access to the bathroom at night, after people are sleeping.

Quiet and Peaceful

This was a perfect house for two couples. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and comfortable. The pool is large and very nice and the lanai is beautiful. We did a lot of cooking and though the kitchen is small it worked very well. We rented a couple different boats during our stay and it was easy to tie them to the dock. The house is very close to the river so if you like to fish it is a great spot. We went out to eat several times and the house is close to many great places. The one con and it’s really not a huge problem is there is no common bathroom. There are two bathrooms and they are connected to the two bedrooms. We would definitely recommend Villa Hip Nautic.
