Everything that you read on this listing is accurate! We had an amazing stay and the host was so gracious at our requests. She even left a bottle of Prosecco since she knew we were celebrating and 30th and 50th birthday. We sat on the deck with the chiminea burning on Saturday afternoon and relaxed and talked for hours. The weekend was perfect!
Lisa was incredibly welcoming. We were originally supposed to go on this trip in the fall, but a nor'easter shut down the east coast. She was kind enough to let us rebook in January. It was a great winter getaway and we hope we can come back next September.
This was our second time staying at the Victor cottage and the hosts were fabulously accommodating for us. The cottage so perfect for us, located so close to the nature preserve and Beach Plum Farm and the Winery. One morning we had a rather close up view of a hawk, gliding at treetop level above the property. It's very comfy and everything worked great for us. I know we'll be back
Excellent place to stay. I would explain how the door lock operates. You punch in the PIN number to open the door, but all you have to do to lock it when you leave is hit the lock picture up top. I wish I had known that! Thank You!
The cottage is located just a few minutes drive or bike ride from the very busy parts of Cape May and adjacent to a Nature Conservancy area open to the public with boardwalk trails and observation platforms of the wetlands next to the bay. Very new and clean, with a nice tree covered yard and deck, and a barbecue grill and outdoor table on the other side of the house. There are a couple steps to get from the driveway up to the deck and a single step down after a small entrance platform without any handrail that was a challenge for an elderly member of our family but once past this the rest of the house is easy to navigate. All in all an excellent stay at much lower cost than far less nice places located in the very noisy and crowded center of Cape May.
The 4 of us loved the space. The kitchen and dining room met all our needs. The bedrooms were pleasant and the host was courteous and available to answer any questions. We loved how close we were to the conservation areas and had a great time birding.
We had a wonderful first visit to Cape May for a family get-together, and this cottage was perfect for our needs. We loved the location, away from the crowds but a short drive or bike ride to the beaches and downtown area. The Nature preserve and Beach Plum farm were really close and we enjoyed visits to them. Rented bikes at Cape Island rentals in West Cape May. Went to Higbee Beach and did some hiking around and saw the concrete shipwreck, swam in the ocean at Cape May Beach, enjoyed area restaurants and shopping. Chilled out at the cottage, sitting in the secluded front deck area, playing games at the beautiful dining table, cooking out on the grill. Discovered Ostara coffeehouse and highly recommend!
This was a perfect rental property for my family for a weekend in Cape May. We would have gladly stayed longer if our schedules could permit! The three bedrooms were comfortable, soft beds but nice linens. My kids opted to share a room, so used the futon in the back bedroom. We loved the beautiful dining table and the fully furnished kitchen had everything that we needed. Host was kind enough to leave coffee supplies and had plenty of dishes, soaps, and paper products that I didn't have to break out the stuff I had brought with me. We loved being able to bike both to town and the lighthouse area. We had rain at night so were unable to use the deck, but lots of cute outside space! (P.S. Outdoor shower was only cold water, so we deferred to using the inside ones :) ) Absolutely one of the most updated properties I have stayed at in Cape May. We would definitely look to reserve again! The host was super responsive in her notifications regarding the house access and when it was ready for us to check in. It was a lovely visit!
Very cute place to stay. Lisa was amazing at answering every question and even offered to mail clothing home to us that was left by accident at the property. Everything about this place was amazing.
Wonderful property located in a quiet neighborhood on the southern side of Cape May. House worked great for a family of four and was well appointed for cooking, laundry, etc. The location was really convenient for visiting the many things to do in the area.
We had a fabulous time at this house outside the downtown hopping/Victorian district. We've now stayed in both areas and the friends really liked the quiet getaway opportunity here. The house was adorable and the property has lots of simple, nice features. It was close enough to be an easy drive to the business district (and a perfectly reasonable walk for walkers in the party), and the location near the Beach Plum Farm, Nature Conservancy walking area, and the winery, made all of those easily accessible. If repeat visits are the best evidence of a great time, well just know that we're comparing calendars!
The house was very comfortable for our family of 4. It had everything we needed and was in walking distance to the Beach Plum Farm where we had a great breakfast while overlooking the beautiful gardens.
In town for work. Host was great to communicate with and very accommodating. Older home, but nicely maintained and comfortable. Would book again for sure.
We loved staying at this house for a beautiful September weekend. The house is exactly as the pictures depicted, clean and great space for our family. The best part was the deck, quiet and secluded. We walked to Beach Plum Farms, rented bikes, and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood. Would stay here again!
The home was beautiful! Check in and check out was so easy.
Lisa was quick to respond and very helpful! We will definitely stay here again when we come to visit Cape May, NJ.
