My only complaint was that we were there for two nights and housekeeping did not come to the room after the first night to empty garbage and give us new towels. When I took the towels and washcloths to the housekeeper, she promptly gave us replacements but I had to seek her out after being away from the room for most of the day.

Nice newer hotel with quality amenities

At check-in the employee at the front desk was very helpful. She provided us with a good restaurant recommendation and told us about the laundry room for guests on the fourth floor. We enjoyed the hotel’s outdoor pool and noted that the pool area was well-maintained. Overall the hotel appears to be relatively new and is well-equipped with high quality appliances (microwave, laundry machines). The bed was comfortable. The hotel’s breakfast was not quite as good as other breakfasts that we’ve had on our trip (at IHG properties in New Mexico), in terms of variety, but we did enjoy the scrambled eggs and pancakes. Overall we enjoyed our stay and recommend Hyatt House Carlsbad.

Not really "Pet Friendly"

I thought I booked a "pet friendly" hotel for $75 extra! Once we arrived with our large lab, they let us know we couldn't leave our pet unattended in the room without a crate! Never did I read anything like that in their rules and polices. And there are no grassy areas for pets to potty either, just rocks!!!
