The whole place stank of old cooking oil. Sticky dirty bannisters. The bed linen and crockery were clean. I had booked for a few nights but left after one as could not sleep because of the disgusting smell.
Unfortunately we didn't feel this property is remotely up to current safety standards or clean enough for people to be allowed to stay. There is also not sufficient dedicated parking for guests (2 spaces total) & we had to sort this out ourselves. The couple who run the place were pleasant and apologised for the parking etc. but this sadly didn't make up for the major concerns we had over the property.
Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Room is very tired and need of updating. Breakfast (included) and main meal (optional extra) were excellent value and very tasty.
Parking was made available
Booked the wrong room due to the photos on the website being incorrect but apparently it was my fault! Total shock when we were shown the room, nearly went straight back home. Room 4 was/is past tired, dangerous extension lead making a crackling noise when we plugged the old kettle in, absolute fire hazard! Tv cable ran under the front of the sink, socket also under the sink! The toilet had the most disgusting smell and the shower screen broke/dirty. The whole occasion was terrible and never again, couldnât even face breakfast. We have stayed before and room 5 was acceptable and yes we know itâs not 5 star establishment but room 4 needs closing for good. We were looking forward to our return visit but will give The Copper Kettle a massive swerve for our next visit to Kirby Lonsdale. Website needs changing or some poor sod will get the same room. Absolutely gutted to leave such a negative review
Albeit slightly dated, really good for the price, the whole place could probably do with an overhaul but I'd rather have it like it is at the current price, the sheets, towels etc were spotless . Lovely couple and good breakfast. Would stay again.
Room was a loft conversion so a bit awkward with low ceilings, only a skylight and a very small bathroom. But everything worked, bed was comfortable.
Owner very friendly and helpful, food excellent, great location in the middle of town. Very good value overall.
This was a lovely place to stay and incredible value for money. This is not a 5* hotel but it has a lovely charm and a is ran by a hardworking, lovely couple. A room with breakfast included for the price you are paying is amazing. Me and my wife enjoyed our breakfast and even catered for me (vegetarian). Highly recommend! Will stay here again.
As other reviews state, the place is a bit tired and dated. But for the money you can't complain. Generous breakfast included in the price was a bonus
My room would have benefited from a shade or cover on the skylight and the advertised parking wasn't available so had to park in a public car park. Not a problem for an overnight stay but would have been different if staying longer.
