Cabines au bord du lac - Cabine # 6

Cabines rustiques Vintage sur le lac. L'un des 7 chalets de villégiature. Cette cabine peut accueillir 6 personnes utilisant 2 chambres, chacune avec un lit queen size et un futon dans le salon. Cette cabine confortable comprend une cuisine, une baignoire et un grand porche fermé donnant sur le lac. Cette cabine a été construite dans les années 1950 et montre tout ce caractÚre vintage. C'est un peu rude sur les bords mais détient le charme des jours passés. Un intérieur en pin noueux crée une atmosphÚre de camping Up North

Cabin exterior was crumbling in places. The photos online are obviously out dated. No Flooring as shown in pictures, concrete floor & no rugs. No pads on outdoor furniture as seen in photos online. No fixtures on lights just an exposed lightbulb in ceiling. You could see wiring in bedrooms. Furniture uncomfortable. Bathroom very tiny. I understand rustic but this was shabby. The "resort" needing mowing and to be cleaned up.

Amazing experience

Booked last minute due to change of plans, owner was very responsive and even allowed early check in due to getting the site cleaned fast! Very friendly and easy communication. This was an amazing experience and stay.

Northern Michigan

The cabin was great. The location is amazing, as there are many day trips to be taken from this home base. Although it's a bit rustic, it provided everything that we needed for a great "up north" weekend. We will surely be back.

Great as a home base!

I wouldn’t book this property as a vacation it’s self but if you wanted somewhere simple for just sleep it’s good. I was a little put off about how many items were sitting out front of the property, it was a ton of random things in the front yard. A little sore on the eyes. We also wish the shoreline of the lake was more cleaned up & ready to enjoy but it was early in the tourist season.

Fantastic and cozy!

We stayed on the coldest day of the winter and arrived very late. We were worried it’d be cold and prepared to bundle up. The cabin was fantastic! Richie, the owner, lives on site and started the heater well before we arrived. It was so warm we had to turn the heat down! The place was clean and cozy, each room had its own space heater. The cabin was exactly as pictured. It was small but didn’t feel cramped. There was even reliable internet access, strong enough to stream movies on the provided smart TV.A couple things to consider. The floor is a concrete slab and was cold. Be prepared to keep your socks on or bring slippers. The place is also a bit remote. Mackinaw city is about 10 minutes away but, other than that, there’s not much. Make sure you bring anything you need. Everything was great and we enjoyed every moment.We’ll definitely be back.

Comfortable and rustic

Rustic cabin was perfect for a getaway with my husband and sister-in-law. Close to Makinac City with easy access to the island ferries. The cabin could use some additional updates but was fine as is.

Peaceful Stay on Carp Lake

The cabin was very nice with all we needed. It was so wonderful being steps away from Carp Lake, so peaceful. Richie was very responsive and helpful. Having access to kayaks and paddle boards was fun. I would recommend this place.

Great location, misleading listing

The location is great. It's 10 minutes from the ferry and the dark sky park. And the view over the lake is beautiful. However, the cabin itself was in need of a good deep clean, particularly the shower. We also found dog hair when we swept up as required before we left. This cabin (#6) varied in several ways from the pictures in the listing: the floors were painted, peeling concrete. The patio furniture had no cushions, and the kitchen had no small shelf--we had to leave most of our bags of supplies on the floor. The bed in the back bedroom was so noisy that it was possible to hear every time someone rolled over from the other bedroom with both doors closed. But worst, there are no docks on the lake! Even the guidebook in the cabin said that there were three docks to share, but when we went to the only docks we saw, we were promptly told we were on private property not associated with the cabins. Nothing kills a relaxed vacation vibe more than being scolded by a homeowner who is understandably upset to have tourists on her dock. Later, we noticed dock pieces stacked on the shore in a few places --these must have been the ones that were supposed to be provided for the cabins.

Not as advertised

We stayed at the property for 24 hours and checked out 2 days early. Would have left sooner except it was raining. Photos must be of an updated cabin. We have photos of the actual place we stayed and it was a cement floor. No central heat, just space heaters. VERY UNHAPPY

The cabins are pretty close together, and the water is only about 5 feet away when exiting out of cabin 6s back porch. Cabin 6s bathroom is pretty small, and hard to walk through. The whole bathroom is cramped including the toilet area. The walk in shower is really out of place and the only light in the bathroom is right above the shower stall. The steam from my shower made the light flicker, which I got a little freaked out by it. The cabin overall could use a lot small repairs and updates. There was a lot of clean blankets and the beds were pretty comfortable. Though there is oven pans/pots I would consider bringing our own non stick pans. Seems like they also want you to clean your whole cabin before you check out including washig/drying all dishes, clean/wipe out fridge, cleaning/ off all counters, and floors. They even ask that you take all your garbage to the dumpster yourself. Seems like something housekeeping should do. I get wanting guest to not leave the place trashed but some requesting the whole place to be cleaned before check out is a bit much. Despite its downfalls our stay was nice and the view of the water was breathtaking. We really enjoyed having a screened in porch!
