Our first introduction was not being told where the Lodge is compared to the casino hotel. The front desk checked us in, never asking if we knew where the Lodge was. After wandering around for 10 minutes we ended up back at the front desk and were misinformed that we could take the elevator there. Well, the Lodge is a separate building on the other side of the parking lot and a gas station! It’s not even walking distance with luggage! Although the room was very spacious and tried to be modernized, it fell short. Upon arrival we found the kitchen trash can was full and a used towel still hanging in the bathroom. The combo microwave/convection oven were too complicated to use—no directions. The curtains weren’t hung properly so they didn’t close and the porch light shined over the bed all night. Not a good experience

Toilet loose on floor TV had no signal remotes didn't work and people up all night in parking lot. It just seemed that the units were so far away from the main hotel we were just brushed aside. We stayed gone most of the time so I guess it was ok for a quick stay

I have stayed at the property dozens and dozens of time in the past. What a disappointment this time. Was looking forward to a nice quiet dinner with my Nephew that we happened to be in the same area. We live 500 miles from each other. We were looking for a filet and lobster dinner with drinks. The posted hours at the CV steak house shows closing 9:30 We entered at 8:45. Told they closed the kitchen that we could go to the coffee shop. When I brought up the posted hours of operation the women said it depends on how they feel and decided to shut it down for the night. The next day is there closed day. I brought this complaint to the front desk and asked for a manager to contact me. Left them my phone number. I heard nothing from them. Very disappointed with their rudeness and lack of care for someone that has been a staying here over that past 20 years. Thankful that there is a Dominos Pizza right next door. I did stay at the J’s Resort for the 5 days before coming here to the Carson Valley Inn. I highly recommend J’s Great staff. Great food and beverage at killer prices, and a newly remodeled Casino and Resort. The staff at the food establishments are very welcoming unlike the Carson Valley Inn.

Horrible check in staff. Nothing but attitude the entire time. There was no reason for it. Truly horrible customer service. Rooms were gross, I ended up not staying there, dirty, outdated, could hear the person next to, smelt like weed. Just an awful experience especially gor the price

The room was nice and in a quiet, secluded location. The staff were super nice and accommodating. The bed wasn’t super comfy and the water pressure in the shower was very rough. Nonetheless, overall a great stay!

Have stayed here before - was in the unit adjacent to the gas station on the other side of the casino so much quieter. Exterior access, upstairs unit facing the mountains. Nice view. Odd thing is that the showers had body wash and shampoo but no conditioner. Not a big deal, but unexpected.

The check in area is too far away from the room. We had to walk almost 2 blocks to get from CVI to the motor lodge. We are old and’s can’t walk easily. You should have check in at the motor lodge or a shuttle service to and from the lodge. Our keys didn’t work when we finally got to our room and we had to call CVI again to tell them. We couldn’t walk back to the registration desk to get new keys. CVI did send engineering over to open our door but there was no place for us to even sit while we waited. Otherwise the room was nice but terribly inconvenient. I am surprised CVI would run the hotel that way.
