Our stay at Holiday Inn Cartagena Morros by IHG was nothing short of beautiful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine kindness. The hotel itself is stunning — peaceful beachfront views, immaculate rooms, and a calming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. What made this experience truly special was every single staff member. From the front desk team who greeted us with smiles, to the bell boys who helped us with care, the housekeepers who kept everything spotless, the bar attendants who made our evenings brighter, and the waiters and waitresses who served us with such patience and joy — everyone worked together to create a feeling of comfort and belonging. You can truly feel the teamwork and heart behind this hotel. I especially want to recognize Ronald, the dining supervisor/waiter. Ronald was an absolute oasis for us. His friendliness, professionalism, and genuine care stood out every day. He didn’t just provide service — he created connection. His attention to detail, expertise, and kindness turned simple meals into meaningful moments. He made us feel seen, valued, and cared for like family. Staff like Ronald represent hospitality at its highest level. If there is ever an opportunity for a year-end bonus or promotion, please consider him — he truly deserves it. Rooms are clean and modern. Breakfast is good and inexpensive if added to room. Negative - pool area is rather small. Beach vendors rather annoying and during our stay - after a big storm - the water contained a lot of tree and leaf matter, which also washed up in piles along the beach

Lovely, comfortable hotel. Horrendous service. Check in took 45+ minutes. 4 staff members milling around the front desk, serving 2 groups ahead of us when we arrived. One employee was just standing there doing paperwork the whole time, ignoring the line in front of him. No idea what took so long, but no acknowledgment or apology for the wait. When we checked in, we asked how much for breakfast, and were told it was included in our ocean view room reservation. The next morning, we signed in with the hostess at the restaurant, confirming our room number. Sat down, settled in, got up to go to the buffet, and then the same hostess who had just welcomed us stopped me at the buffet to say we hadn't paid for breakfast. I told her reception had told us it was included in our reservation. She didn't understand English (and I didnt understand Spanish) so she got a supervisor, who said "ok, no problem". After we ate, the hostess then chased us into the elevator and asked us to come with her to reception, where THE SAME MAN who checked us in and told us breakfast was included proceeded to tell us it was NOT included, and charged us. No apology for the misunderstanding. I'm unsure if we paid for breakfast twice. It doesn't matter - it's not the money, it's the horrible service experience. Otherwise, this was a nice place to stay, close to the airport. Uber into Cartagena proper was about 20 minutes (no traffic).
