We had the opportunity to stay at Linden Lodge for our son's baseball tournament in State College. The location was perfect - close to all local attractions but on a quiet secluded road. The views of the winery below were magnificent. Highly recommend visiting the winery as it is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. We hope to return again!
The house and the location was perfect for our daughterâs graduation. The views from every angle was absolutely gorgeous and we were fortunate that the weather was perfect. The house felt like home. It was inviting and so many areas to enjoy the views or watch TV, music or just have a conversation. The kitchen/ dining area was perfect for a family meal. As far as location, we wanted to avoid driving, so we just ubered and itâs only 15 min from campus, which was awesome! We also had the opportunity to enjoy the winery, which made the stay even more memorable.Steve, the host quickly responded to questions, which was appreciated. The bathrooms were well stocked with towels and toiletries that were needed. The only issue was the water pressure in the master bath, but it wasnât a dealbreaker, we just used the other showers. Otherwise,it was perfect. We would love to come back.
We came for Blue White weekend. The property was clean and really nice. The owners were sonice and hospitable, providing us with some treats from the winery. Enjoyed the winery (went twice). Highly recommend.
Abundance of windows allowing everyone to share the beauty of the surroundings. Ability for guests to gather as a group or in individual pods. The fireplace provided an extra enjoyable gathering spot. Hosts were welcoming and accomodating.
Fantastic property, amazing view, and great house. Host was incredibly responsive and so easy to work with. Only complaint is there there were some dead bugs on the bathroom floors but that didnât bother us. Highly recommend and hope to be back again soon!
Our group of family and friends ages 23 to 64 experienced the perfect fall weekend at Linden Lodge enjoying a beautiful, well appointed and equipped, cozy home with amazing views and close proximity to Penn State. This home has a nice blend of inside and outside family gathering areas as well as rooms for personal space. Perfect place to prep for a Penn State tailgate, too. We will definitely return in 2025 and hope to visit the winery at that time. Stephen, our host, was very responsive and accommodating in helping me manage our party of 10 who traveled from NYC and the Lehigh Valley. We Are . . . so happy to have stayed at Linden Lodge.
If youâre heading up to State College and looking for a home that is conveniently located, but away from the hustle and bustle of campus I highly recommend Linden Lodge. Situated on the grounds of Mount Nittany Winery but privately tucked away, this home was perfect. Mid century modern architecture and beautifully decorated with the most stunning views. Iâd stay here again in a heart beat.
My sonâs wedding party stayed there on Saturday to dress & prep for nearby wedding ceremony. Couple came back later on Saturday night after reception. Nice evening. Nice place. Thanks.
We chose Linden Lodge for a small group prayer retreat. It wound up being perfect for us. The place was spotless, and there was just so much space for us to spread out and visit between prayers. The view from the living room is just magnificent. And the bathrooms are like spa baths.
One clarification about the baths. Both upstairs baths are hall baths. The one labeled the Master bath is next to both upstairs bedrooms (it is not an ensuite). The other hall bath is near the front entrance by the garage, close to the top of the stairs. Some of our downstairs guests liked being able to use this bath for their showers.
Despite hoping to check out some State College restaurants, we ate all our meals at the Lodge. The kitchen is fully equipped. And the dishwasher is silent. Loved that!
There was only one negative to our trip, and that was that we managed to pick the worst weather in PA in weeks. So we were really disappointed not to be able to use the lovely outdoor amenities. Next time!!
Perfect Getaway near State College with a beautiful view and A+ Winery
Couldn't have asked for better or more accommodating hosts, the cabin was immaculate with plenty of room for a friend's getaway. The View is stunning, overlooking the winery and mountains. A short walk to the winery for a tasting of some of the best wine we've ever had. The proximity to state college and all of its amenities was wonderful. Really enjoyed the stay, will be back!
We were a family group of 11 including a newborn, toddler, two teens, and adults. The house has plenty of space to spread out especially when the weather is nice with the long deck overlooking the winery. The hosts were responsive and addressed a small issue quickly. Bathrooms were well stocked. Good water pressure except in the master bath shower. Kitchen had everything you could possibly want. All in all a great family trip.
Our stay was amazing. This house gives a remote and quiet feel while belong convenient to Penn State and State college. The views are amazing. The house is spacious and cozy at the same time. The perfect place to stay for a Penn State visit.
We were in town for the Happy Valley IRONMAN 70.3. The whole family came along and this house was the perfect place for my wife and I, two kids, mother in law, sister in law and her two kids. We enjoyed the views, had plenty of room, and had everything we needed and more. I only wish we could have stayed longer!
Our West Coast sons reunited with us for a week of wedding activities including a reception/dance at the Winery. The kitchen, with abundant storage space, was well enough equipped to enjoy many meals around the dining table overlooking the private outdoors. The quiet road past horses & vineyards and trails through the property were nice for a walk/run. Our deck looked across the lawn down to a pond and the winery inviting us to an afternoon flight of wine and short walk back. The two bathrooms with showers upstairs offered us options for privacy. Our sons seemed to find their favorite chair to relax for time alone or to enjoy a quiet conversation. The drive to the airport, Arboretum, and campus on the north side of town was easy and quick while the supermarkets and wine & spirit store on South Atherton were even more accessible. Linden Lodge was like a home and just perfect in many ways. Thank You Stephen and Linda
We stayed for my daughters graduation from Penn State. Wonderful spaces for a large multi-generational group. Beautiful location⊠really enjoyed sitting in the deck overlooking the winery.
Easy drive to campus/state college.
We had a fantastic stay at Linden Lodge and honestly canât wait to stay again. If the surrounding view of the mountains, valley and the winery werenât enough, the house is spacious, comfortable and it was well stocked with everything we needed. We also loved the wine and cheese on arrival, the nature trail in the back of the house, the deck with plenty of seating and space to eat and the basement with games and toys for the kids. The hosts were responsive and so friendly! Thanks again for an amazing weekend for our group!
This was the perfect place for our group of (10) 50-somethings for an annual reunion of old friends. The house, property, view, & location were best we could imagine. House is fully equipped, instructions/info was readily available. Loved the firepit with a view. Highly recommend!!
This is the 2nd consecutive year we've stayed here. The memories we make here are life long for me and my 6 kids. The house is very cozy, the fireplace is lovey throughout the day. Me and the littles loved watching the birds from the back deck. Me and the girls loved waking up to the sunset every morning. This year is was cold enough that the vineyards pond froze so I taught my 14yr old daughter and my 5yr old daughter, 8yr old son how to ice skate. Watching them ice skate while sipping coffee on the deck was amazing. Kids and I took advantage of sledding down the many hills on the property. If you have kids, or are interested in yourself, I recommend going to Tussey Mountain Ski resort and checking out the Penns Caves tour, along with all the amazing trails. I cannot say enough about how great this property is and how lovely the owners are. Very responsive even on Christmas and new years. I look forward to our stay in 2023. Thank you Steve for opening your lovely home for our family.
